Senior Management Accountant

Senior Management Accountant, Financial Services (FinTech/Payments/FX)

Location: City of London Industry: Financial Services, FinTech, Payments / FX Type: Permanent position

About the Role

A fast-paced FX/Global Payments firm is seeking a Senior Management Accountant to deliver a blend of reporting (Month-End, Year-End—including FRS102/IFRS16) and commercial FP&A work.

This opportunity is ideal for:

  • Qualified industry candidates
  • Assistant Managers/Managers with audit background seeking progression

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts and financial reports
    • Responsible for month-end closures
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes to ensure alignment with financial targets
  • Deliver detailed variance analysis to inform data-driven decision-making
  • Oversee and enhance internal financial controls and processes
  • Collaborate across departments to understand and report on financial performance
  • Assist with year-end audits and liaise with external auditors as needed
  • Contribute to the preparation of statutory accounts and compliance with FRS102, IFRS16
  • Provide financial insights to senior stakeholders to support strategic planning

Requirements / Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Technical accounting expertise with strong analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel proficiency and experience with financial modelling
  • FinTech, Payments, or FX industry knowledge
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Effective internal and external communication skills
