Senior Consultant – Digital Transformation (Birchman Group)

Role Summary

As a Senior Consultant, you will take a central role in tackling critical client challenges by blending structured analysis, creative thinking, and collaborative delivery. You’ll guide engagements from design to implementation, applying a logical, outcome-driven approach while working closely with clients and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and independently lead key workstreams within consulting projects, ensuring high-quality outputs delivered on time and to budget.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to lead and contribute across a range of projects, including those outside your core skills set.
  • Develop structured, practical solutions to client challenges, rooted in data and aligned with broader programme goals.
  • Translate strategic direction into actionable plans that yield measurable business impact.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, communicating effectively with all organisational levels—from operational teams to senior leadership.
  • Contribute to client deliverables, including presentations, reports, and implementation plans.
  • Operate decisively on assigned tasks while knowing when to seek guidance or escalate issues.
  • Leverage strong analytical and numerical skills to interpret data and shape insights-driven recommendations.
  • Identify specialist requirements and coordinate seamlessly with cross-functional teams.
  • Balance client delivery with internal contributions, such as practice development or mentoring junior colleagues.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of consulting, business, or problem-solving experience in a client-facing environment.
  • Proven background in management consulting, or equivalent experience in solution-driven roles.
  • Academic foundation in STEM disciplines or Economics, fostering a structured, analytical mindset.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for technical, managerial, and executive stakeholders.
  • Advanced analytical and numeracy abilities, comfortable with data-driven insights and trend identification.
  • Track record of delivering outcome-focused projects, with strong project management and time-awareness.
  • Proactiveness in prioritisation, capable of navigating competing demands with minimal supervision.
  • High attention to detail, ensuring flawless deliverables and identifying anomalies.
  • A collaborative mindset, committed to team success and avoiding a ‘hero-forming’ contribution style.
  • Commercial awareness and intellectual curiosity about industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions.
