Role Summary

The Senior Manager, Activation ensures service excellence within campaign activation, aligning operations with strategic objectives. Key functions include:

  • Primary campaign ownership: Guiding a high-value subset of agency campaigns
  • Collaboration: Partnering with Activation Associate Directors and internal teams
  • Performance optimisation: Driving KPIs, resolving escalations, and leading project initiatives
  • Team development: Mentoring Activation Executives and championing their growth

Core Responsibilities

Campaign Management & Strategy

  • ✅ Take autonomy over campaign activation for priority clients
  • ✅ Oversee high-spend/high-impact campaigns within budget targets
  • ✅ Supervise monetisation processes, optimise billing workflows
  • ✅ Declare proactive margin targets via strategic insights

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • ✅ Liaise as primary liaison for agency-campaign control points
  • ✅ Facilitate internal ?shared goals with Solutions Planning
  • ✅ Represent WPP Media at client forums (tactical concerns → opportunity alignment)

Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting

  • ✅ Resolve complex campaign issues using advanced analytics
  • ✅ Champion process innovations to mitigate inefficiencies

Commercial & Financial Accountability

  • ✅ Prioritise margin-friendly activations, tracking revenue drivers
  • ✅ Streamline monetisation, ensuring cost-effective billing processes

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

✔ Programmatic advertising: hands-on experience in DSP and SSPs (e.g. The Trade Desk, DV360, Meta Business Manager) ✔ Campaign management: orchestrating client-role targeting, bid optimisation, and formula execution ✔ Paid social mastery: Agencies include Meta, Pinterest, TikTok, LinkedIn budgeting ✔ Operational excellence: Analysis-driven culture with iterative learning ✔ Excel & B2B system agility: SQL penetration is a plus
