Senior Manager, Business Development Enablement, Global

Business Development Enablement Team Leader

Location: London (Hybrid – 50% presence required)

Our leading international law firm, serving global corporations, financial institutions, and investment fund managers, is expanding its Business Development Enablement (BD Enablement) team. We support global growth strategies through improved client intelligence, technology adoption, and the embedding of structured business development programmes like Activator Advantage.

This pivotal role will require strategic insight, initiative, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset. You will drive the implementation and optimisation of technology stacks that enhance client-facing operations and commercial success.

The Business Development Enablement Team Leader will lead the team at an exciting time as the firm expands its global capabilities through a focus on:

  • Client intelligence
  • Marketing technology
  • Relationship management toolsets

You must demonstrate experience in business development, technology adoption, and process improvement, while supporting our push for data-driven growth.


Key Responsibilities

Strategy and Leadership

  • Lead the strategy and day-to-day management of the firm’s marketing and business development technology ecosystem, with a primary focus on CRM, ERM, and e-marketing platforms.
  • Take ownership of the global CRM and relationship intelligence roadmap, ensuring alignment with goals such as:
    • Client development
    • Cross-selling
    • Account management
    • Business growth
  • Provide leadership on how technology can support strategic, data-driven business development and marketing activities across the firm.

Technology Implementation and Innovation

  • Drive the adoption and best-practice use of tools across marketing, business development, and client-facing communities through:
    • Training programs
    • Guidance initiatives
    • Change management strategies
  • Oversee data governance, integrity, and quality for:
    • Client data
    • Contact records
    • Relationship information
    • Activity logs
  • Partner with business development, marketing, communications, IT, and knowledge teams to translate business needs into:
    • Practical technology solutions
    • System enhancements
  • Develop and maintain reporting dashboards and insight tools for:
    • Business development planning
    • Campaign performance analysis
    • Informing executive decision-making

Operational Excellence and Risk Management

  • Identify opportunities to enhance client and intermediary intelligence through:
    • Understanding relationship networks
    • Mapping referral pathways
    • Discovering growth opportunities
  • Lead and support the implementation of new technology, including:
    • Gathering requirements
    • Facilitating testing
    • Planning team rollouts
    • Ensuring effective adoption
  • Act as the primary liaison with external technology vendors, managing:
    • Relationships
    • Service delivery
    • Renewals
    • Ongoing optimisation efforts
  • Ensure compliance with data protection, privacy, and regulatory requirements, including:
    • Secure handling of client data
    • Adherence to marketing automation best practices
  • Establish and document best practice processes in:
    • Technology utilisation
    • Ensuring consistency, efficiency, and regulatory compliance

Incident Management and Team Development

  • Respond to and escalate incidents in martech tools in a timely and effective manner.
  • Optimise operational efficiency and embed continuous improvement across teams.
  • Lead or support a team, fostering a high-performing direct report or enhanced support structure.

Key Requirements

Experience and Background

  • Relevant experience in a business development or marketing technology role within professional services.
  • Hands-on knowledge of CRM systems and how they support data-driven business development.
  • Proven track record of launching, implementing, and driving adoption of new technologies.
  • Experience working in a partnership environment is essential.
  • Demonstrated client-centric and commercially-focused approach.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong planning and organisational skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Collaborative and proactive mindset.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Flexibility to work outside core hours during peak periods.
