The Team
You will join the Engineering Directorate, working closely with the Head of Engineering Operating System and partnering extensively with Digital Information Technology (DigIT), Engineering, Programme and Operations teams.
This role sits at the critical interface between engineering and digital—ensuring the tools, data and workflows that underpin engineering delivery are aligned, integrated and effective. You will operate across a broad stakeholder landscape, influencing both technical and leadership communities to enable a cohesive, enterprise-wide digital capability.
The Role
As Senior Manager – Engineering Digital Platform, you will lead the definition, integration and adoption of engineering digital capability across the organisation.
You will shape how engineering requirements are translated into practical digital solutions—ensuring platforms, data and workflows support delivery across the full product lifecycle. Working in close partnership with DigIT, you’ll influence the digital roadmap, ensuring the right capabilities are prioritised and delivered at the point of need.
This is a key leadership role in ensuring engineering governance, control and assurance are embedded into digital systems—reducing reliance on manual processes and enabling efficient, scalable and regulator-ready delivery.
What We’ll Need You To Do
- Define and manage engineering digital demand, ensuring clear prioritisation of capability aligned to programme needs
- Partner with DigIT to shape and deliver an integrated digital roadmap, with clear ownership and accountability across teams
- Translate engineering governance requirements into effective digital workflows, controls and data standards
- Provide oversight of system integration, interoperability and information integrity across engineering platforms
- Identify and manage risks associated with digital capability gaps, ensuring timely mitigation and reduced reliance on workarounds
- Influence technology choices, vendor engagement and future capability, including safe adoption of emerging technologies
- Drive adoption of digital tools and ways of working, enabling measurable improvements in engineering performance and productivity

What You’ll Bring
- Senior leadership experience delivering digital platforms, toolchains or transformation initiatives in complex engineering environments
- Proven ability to operate across engineering and digital domains, translating technical needs into practical solutions and delivery plans
- Strong understanding of engineering governance, lifecycle management and regulatory expectations in a safety-critical context
- Experience shaping or supporting digital roadmaps, including prioritisation, business case development and value realisation
- Knowledge of integrated digital environments, including system architecture, data models and interoperability
- Degree in engineering, digital, technology or a related discipline (or equivalent experience), with Chartered status or working towards it
- A collaborative and influencing leadership style, with the ability to align stakeholders and drive outcomes across organisational boundaries
Location
This role is hybrid, with flexibility built in to support work-life balance. You will be expected to regularly attend one of our key sites in Warrington, Derby or Manchester, with occasional travel as required to support collaboration and programme delivery.
What’s In It For You
We anticipate paying a salary of between £71,000 - £93,200.00 DOE plus:
- Bonus - Performance related target opportunity 17%
- Benefits Allowance – £5000 per annum, enabling you to create a bespoke package
- Pension - 12% employer and 6% employee contributions.
- Holidays - 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) and the ability to buy or sell up to 4 days.
- Private Medical Insurance - BUPA single cover health care
- Life Assurance - 6x pensionable pay
- £250 - One-off payment for new starters for home office purchases
