Assistant Director (Senior Manager) – Financial Diligence UKFS

The UK Financial Services Financial Diligence team at EY currently has exciting opportunities. You’ll work with a high-performing, integrated team focusing on a variety of high-profile IPOs and transactions, offering diverse, stretching experiences that provide continuous learning and development opportunities along with a strong sense of achievement.

The Opportunity

We help corporate and financial clients achieve their strategic goals, whether through acquisitions, divestments, or raising finance. Our clients span:

  • UK entrepreneur-led businesses to the largest global enterprises
  • Financial services sectors, including Insurance, Banking & Capital Markets, and Asset Management
  • Private equity, central banks, and Government treasury departments

Our core work involves due diligence, including:

  • Assessing a target company’s finances and business projections
  • Identifying opportunities, risks, sensitivities, and mitigation strategies
  • Reporting findings to clients, banks, investors, and other stakeholders

You’ll work alongside experienced due diligence professionals, refining your skills across different sectors and scenarios. Travel—both within the UK and internationally—may be required, and projects are typically led in collaboration with our cross-functional teams.


Role Responsibilities

As an Assistant Director, your responsibilities will include:

  • Understanding key business drivers and co-developing an approach with the client
  • Agreeing value measurements with clients while offering insights, factual conclusions, and strategic advice
  • Project managing teams and fostering strong collaboration with all team members
  • Forming internal and external networks to build multi-disciplinary teams with colleagues across EY globally
  • Gathering, verifying, and assessing information to formulate technical views
  • Planning, preparing, and reviewing deliverables such as written reports, presentations, and client discussions

  • Plan and monitor team progress

Skills And Attributes For Success

Essential Skills

  • Ability to gather, verify, and analyse information for technical conclusions
  • Proven planning, preparation, and review experience (written reports, presentations, client discussions)
  • Supportive leadership culture with a commitment to junior team members
  • Business development experience
  • ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification
  • Strong commercial or transaction experience—including financial due diligence
  • Specific financial services experience in:
    • Insurance, Banking & Capital Markets
    • Asset Management
  • Passion for delivering strategic, high-quality service to clients
