Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Manager to join the Japan team in our Global Mobility Services (GMS) practice, in London.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Focusing on Japan-HQ businesses, build, maintain and lead strong relationships with senior members of the company
- Recognising and developing opportunities to further grow the Japan team in the UK.
- Lead business development/proposals
- Day-to-day contact for allocated VIPs, and working closely with the Engagement Leaders to deliver an enhanced service to the VIPs
- Manage the day-to-day global coordination and/or UK service delivery of client engagements (dependent on the client portfolio), supported by a junior engagement team.
- Management of all associated compliance processes for international assignees
- Ensuring clients are provided with up-to-date information on relevant tax developments
- Advising on risk issues relevant to client and assisting in mitigating these
- Preparing client advice for director/partner review
- Project management
- Delegation of work to, and training and coaching of junior staff
- Interaction with KPMG's global People Services network
- Assisting with the day to day running of the Japan team and participating in managerial meetings
- Monitoring, recording and managing financial results on allocated clients to ensure profitability of the business

Qualifications And Skills
- ACA/ATT/CTA qualified or equivalent
Experience and Background
- Understanding of Japanese professional practices and business customs
- Excellent written and spoken English, as well as competency in Japanese
- Previous experience co-ordinating global tax services for Japan-HQ clients.
- Previous experience working in UK expatriate tax services
