Role Overview
The Senior Manager / Global Warehouse & Distribution Lead, part of the Global CMO and Logistics Procurement organization, will be responsible for leading the W&D sourcing team in the global category management and executing global sourcing strategies for in-market Warehousing and Leg C distribution across the Haleon Supply Chain network. This role manages the warehousing and distribution spend categories to deliver the required business outcomes across Haleon’s six Operating Units (OUs), ensuring customer service (OTIF), operational excellence and reliability, cost efficiency, and sustainability. The role partners closely with QSC operations and customer facing teams, Finance, Quality, Legal, Sustainability, and external third-party logistics service providers (LSP’s). In this role, you will manage a global spend of £240m+.
Responsibilities
In this role you will be:
- Responsible for the development and implementation of global category strategies within your area of spend, which will form the strategic foundation and direction of all global category strategies and OU strategies. This role will need to work closely with the OU teams to ensure the global strategy accounts for regional and local market requirements while leveraging the global view and opportunities to drive leveraged value for Haleon. You will ensure supporting teams correctly implement agreed commercial and operational outcomes, and as necessary resolve any commercial escalations.
Key Responsibilities
Category Strategy Development
- Manage a spend of £240M+ for W&D category in scope globally.
- Create comprehensive global sourcing strategies for W&D category in scope of responsibility, operating with a truly global and strategic mindset and in close collaboration with regions, having a clear understanding of how global strategies affect local markets and how global and OU strategies align.
- Build an education & communication process for key stakeholders.
- Be the global expert in the spend categories (Mastery & Leadership).
- Develop and implement global sourcing strategies for W&D.
- Manage strategic sourcing initiatives for W&D in line with business priorities and contract life cycle management.
- Identify end-to-end synergy and value creation opportunities across W&D (e.g. Leg B, Leg D).
- Ensure global strategies reflect Haleon’s sustainability objectives.
- Ensure all appropriate inflation metrics for the W&D catgeory are tracked in support of Haleon Financial reporting (Annual Business Plan, CMF/LE and LRP/IGD).
Supplier Management
- Manage W&D relationships with external third-party logistics service providers (LSP’s) in line with overall Haleon P4G Framework for Logistics Procurement.
- Build strategic relationships with key W&D global suppliers and lead processes to ensure value is driven from these relationships.
- Ensure global and regional considerations are accounted for in supplier relationships.
- Manage the W&D supply base for the categories within scope through a robust performance management process. Ensure supplier performance is understood and measured through regular reviews.
- Lead all W&D contract standards, planning, negotiation, execution, interpretation and maintenance with global suppliers to secure competitive pricing and service reliability.
- Develop and Implement Operational excellence strategies and plans for key global suppliers to drive improvements against W&D KPIs.

Cost Optimization & Value Creation
- Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency, and supplier innovation.
- Deploy standardized W&D benchmark tools globally and review/refresh based on agreed cadence, maintaining all supporting real estate, labor rate, and productivity references as required.
- Collaborate with QSC operations and customer facing teams to implement and drive agreed initiatives and improvement programs.
- Ensure financial benefits are managed in accordance with the QSCP Finance Savings Methodology, ensuring OU and Finance agreement to financial value delivered and transparency on treatment of benefits in the budgeting process.
- Maintain on a monthly basis an accurate overview of in year and pipeline initiatives in Haleon financial reporting systems (e.g., Galaxy) and provide productivity input to Haleon Financial reporting (Annual Business Plan, CMF/LE and LRP/IGD).
Risk Management
- Transform the supply chain to release value and make Haleon more responsive to business and customer needs – risk mitigation, cost control, complexity reduction, simplification, best practice procurement and use of KPIs.
- Monitor global markets & regulatory developments affecting the W&D category.
- Ensure W&D Catgeory alignment with Haleon Supplier Resilience Programme.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with QSC operations and customer facing teams to understand market demands and operational requirements.
- Work cross-functionally with Haleon’s six Operating Units (OUs), QSC operations and customer facing teams, Finance, Quality, Legal, and Sustainability.
- Provide procurement expertise during Go-To-Market or Distribution Channel projects involving or adjacent to W&D Category, e.g.: Leg D.
- Influence key global and regional stakeholders and OU business partners to support strategy development, endorse recommended strategies, support execution and agree how benefit delivery will be budgeted.
Team Leadership
- Provide leadership to a global team of W&D Sourcing colleagues.
- Compliance with Haleon Annual Performance and Reward cycle deliverables.
- Provide team mentorship and development in line with Haleon Full Potential People and Mastery & Leadership fundamentals.
Procurement Governance
- Ensure all procurement activities follow Haleon policies and ethical sourcing standards.
- Manage contracts, supplier onboarding, and compliance documentation.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree
- Area of Specialisation: Procurement, Business, Supply Chain / Logistics
- 10+ years of experience in a similar procurement or operational supply chain role.
- FMCG/CPG incl. food or Consumer Health/OTC experience.
- Knowledge of Procurement tools such as sourcing, quotation analysis, contract negotiation, supplier review, supplier development, and others
- Demonstrated expertise in managing categories, particularly category strategy development and implementation, stakeholder management, and supplier relationship management
- Strong knowledge of finance (cost benchmark, financial audit with key suppliers) and legal matters (contracting)
- Extensive specialist knowledge and practical logistics experience, e.g., viewed as subject matter expert in managing W&D category in a regional/global sourcing context and/or demonstrated 3PL logistics operation capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to forge close business relationships with internal and external stakeholders at management level. Understanding business value, business priorities, and translating that into driving strategies for competitive commercial advantage.
- Highly developed commercial acumen with demonstrated success in delivering logistics and/or sourcing transformations.
- Successful multi-year track record in delivering year on year savings or continuous improvements in a challenging economic climate.
- Skilled negotiator adept at managing complex negotiations / influencing at management level with both external and internal stakeholders.
- In depth understanding of logistics environment & supplier relationship models.
- Experience managing the delivery of large projects (project and change management experience with strong leadership) and with end-to-end service / operations management.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communications, and influencing skills.
- Able to work independently to tight deadlines in a high-pressure matrix environment and with a high tolerance for ambiguity.
