About The Role
You will be accountable for providing end-to-end Business Assurance across the Consumer P&L (c.£9.5bn), covering the full Concept-to-Cash revenue and cost value stream, alongside leading the Consumer Incident Management process.
The role supports financial performance, customer experience and regulatory compliance by ensuring billing accuracy and completeness, reducing exposure to incorrect supplier costs, and identifying risks across end-to-end processes and systems. You will provide insight and recommendations to support improvements across people, processes and technology, helping to inform business decision-making.
You will also contribute to the development of the Consumer assurance approach, influencing priorities and embedding Business Assurance best practice across the wider Group Business Assurance team.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Define and deliver the Consumer Business Assurance strategy, ensuring effective end-to-end controls across the Concept-to-Cash and Concept-to-Market value streams, aligned to Group Business Assurance priorities.
- Identify risks, control weaknesses and improvement opportunities across processes and systems, providing insight and recommendations that drive measurable financial benefits, support regulatory compliance and inform business decision-making.
- Lead Consumer incident management and root cause analysis, managing regulatory and Ofcom-related impacts while driving continuous improvement and sustainable risk mitigation.
- Influence and engage senior stakeholders across Consumer, Finance and Group Business Assurance to embed best practice, improve assurance outcomes and support strategic priorities.
- Champion the use of data, automation and AI to enhance assurance quality, efficiency and insight generation.
- Lead, develop and manage a high-performing Business Assurance team, including budget and third-party resource accountability.

Essential Skills / Experience
- Strong Business Assurance, Revenue Assurance or consulting experience within telecommunications or similarly complex environments, with the ability to identify, assess and articulate risk and control issues.
- Highly analytical, with a track record of translating complex data into actionable insights, clearly communicating commercial and financial impacts, and delivering measurable business improvement or financial benefits. Demonstrates strong personal drive, taking ownership of outcomes and proactively identifying opportunities to create value.
- Experience operating at senior management level, with knowledge of Business Assurance methodologies, tools and automation solutions to drive effective assurance outcomes. Confident operating independently in complex and ambiguous environments, with the credibility and gravitas to influence, challenge and engage senior stakeholders.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Strong planning, prioritisation and delivery capability across multiple initiatives
- Awareness of data, automation and emerging AI capabilities, with the ability to leverage these to enhance insight generation and the effectiveness of assurance activities
- Experience leading and developing teams, with a focus on performance and capability building
