Senior Manager, IAM Control Assurance & Innovation

What is the opportunity?
Identity & Access Management (IAM) is foundational to RBC’s cyber risk strategy, ensuring secure growth in an increasingly complex threat landscape. With evolving regulations, cyber threats, and operational needs, robust IAM governance and control assurance are essential to safeguarding the bank.
As Senior Manager, IAM Control Assurance & Innovation, you will:
- Drive global adherence to enterprise policies and control standards
- Balance innovation, automation, and assurance in IAM practices
- Strengthen partnerships with IAM, Global Security, auditors, and cross-functional teams
- Embed IAM control data into RBC’s AI and agentic landscape, enabling continuous monitoring and anomaly detection
- Provide expert consultation on IAM control compliance, processes, and best practices to support Audit, Regulatory, and Third-Party evidence requests
What will you do?

Innovation & Evidence Gathering
- Identify and implement innovative solutions for IAM audit, regulatory, and third-party inquiries
- Automate and catalog potential gaps in IAM enterprise services alignment with RBC standards

Compliance & Control Assurance
- Actively participate in IAM control testing for BAU and strategic initiatives
- Collaborate across cross-functional RBC teams to ensure IAM control compliance
- Define and support a minimum set of business requirements and control points

Process & Documentation
- Review and uplift operational procedure documents to align with standards and regulations
- Maintain an inventory of all IAM processes and procedures, ensuring alignment with evolving business needs

Compliance Monitoring & Investigation
- Monitor and provide input on IAM service compliance with policies and standards
- Analyze and investigate control evidence to satisfy compliance and audit requirements

Expert Consultation
- Serve as an SME in IAM controls, providing strategic guidance on:
- Control compliance
- Process improvements
- Best practices

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- 5+ years of experience in a comparable role (e.g., IT Risk, Control Assurance, or Compliance), preferably in a global financial services organization
- Undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field
- Proven success in:
- Implementing process improvements and automation solutions
- Operating key IAM tools (e.g., SailPoint, CyberArk, Active Directory, Okta, ServiceNow)
- Delivering high-impact results under pressure
- Ability to:
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear communication
- Influence and drive change without direct authority
- Adapt quickly to evolving environments
- Continuously learn and acquire new technical skills

Nice-to-have
- Experience with City National Bank or NABank
- Knowledge of:
- PowerShell, Python, JSON, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Blue Prism, API integration
- PowerShell, Python, VBScript
- Industry security risk certifications (e.g., CRISC, CISSP)
