Job Description
Lead the development, execution and scaling of Visa Europe's insurance product and technology strategy. Own the insurance product roadmap, insurance platform capabilities, claims and servicing infrastructure, and Visa's long-term differentiation agenda to create a scalable, technology-enabled insurance business across Europe.
All roles require digital fluency, including the ability to work with emerging technologies such as Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday work.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap Ownership:
- Define and own Visa Europe's insurance product roadmap.
- Drive the evolution of existing card-linked insurance propositions and future offerings.
- Prioritise product investments based on client demand, commercial opportunities and strategic differentiation objectives.
- Develop product requirements and business cases for new capabilities and services.
Insurance Technology & Platform Development
- Own Visa's insurance technology roadmap and platform strategy.
- Lead the development of claims, servicing and administration capabilities.
- Define future-state architecture and integration requirements with insurers, brokers, TPAs and strategic partners.
- Ensure platforms support scalability, automation and operational efficiency across European markets.

Product Delivery & Execution
- Lead cross-functional delivery of insurance product and platform initiatives.
- Coordinate Product, Technology, Legal, Risk, Operations and external partners to deliver roadmap commitments.
- Manage delivery milestones, budgets, dependencies and implementation risks.
- Ensure successful deployment of new products and capabilities across Europe.
Visa Differentiation & Innovation Agenda
- Define and execute Visa's long-term insurance USP and differentiation strategy.
- Identify opportunities to leverage technology, data, digital servicing and embedded insurance capabilities.
- Drive innovation initiatives that strengthen Visa's competitive positioning versus schemes, issuers and fintech competitors.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, insurtech partnerships and new business models.
Partner Ecosystem & Vendor Management
- Lead product and technology engagement with insurers, brokers, TPAs and insurtech partners.
- Support partner selection and capability assessments.
- Drive product innovation and capability enhancement through strategic partnerships.
- Ensure third-party capabilities align with Visa's roadmap objectives
Commercial Enablement
- Support strategic client opportunities, RFPs and issuer engagements.
- Translate product and technology capabilities into compelling client value propositions.
- Partner with clusters and sales teams to accelerate commercialization of insurance solutions.
- Provide insurance product SME support across Europe.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD.
- Experience in product development and management within financial or fintech industries.
- Experience in roles such as product manager, product owner, business process analyst, or sales operations.
- Experience in applying Agile principles across design, development, testing, and product management.
- Experience in developing software capabilities to support sales, service, or customer relationship management functions.
- Experience in project management and execution against tight deadlines.
- Experience in strategic thinking, analytical skills, and financial acumen.
- Experience in collaborating across organizations and managing complex projects.
- Experience in utilizing industry trends to develop products and digital offerings.

Preferred Qualifications
- 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD.
- Agile certifications such as CSM and CSPO, or their equivalent.
- Experience in identifying, assessing, and managing tradeoffs in product development.
- Experience in identifying points of failure and formulating error-handling approaches for product resiliency.
- Experience in financial and fintech industries.
- Experience in product development and management as an advantage.
