Job Title: Senior Tax Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Tax Manager to join our team, responsible for delivering high-quality and effective tax advice for entities within the AtkinsRéalis Group. The ideal candidate will:

  • Have strong technical expertise in international tax
  • Bring a background in tax advisory, M&A, process improvement
  • Leverage technology for efficiency and accuracy

Your Responsibilities

Tax Advisory & Risk Management

  • Provide strategic tax support on client proposals and cross-border structuring
  • Assess and mitigate tax risks including PE (Permanent Establishment) risks, WHT (Withholding Tax), and VAT risks of bids
  • Lead and support international projects, including:
    • M&A activity
    • Internal reorganizations
    • Country start-ups
    • Legal entity rationalization (where required)
    • Conduct due diligence
    • Manage project coordination, documentation, and implementation of tax consequences
    • Support integration actions and provide expert guidance on tax matters
  • Respond to ad hoc tax-related queries, if needed

Compliance & Oversight

  • Stay updated and identify developments in international tax law, such as Pillar 2 reform
  • Maintain oversight of local compliance processes conducted by finance teams or external providers
  • Manage WHT costs and adherence to tax requirements on cross-border transactions
  • Evaluate uncertain tax positions to support financial reporting processes
  • Support the tax audit management process, if required

Process Improvement & Standardisation

  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities through:
    • Process and/or systems standardisation
    • Improvement in tax-related data quality, consistency, and integrity
  • Work towards operational excellence while maintaining regulatory compliance

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Build and maintain strong internal partnerships across multiple teams (finance, legal, and sales)
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure timely project delivery
  • Act as a trusted resource for the Global Tax Team on both regular initiatives and ad-hoc requests

Project Management

  • Manage efficient delivery of tax projects and initiatives, including:
    • Risk and obstacle assessment to meet deadlines
    • Proposing solutions where operational barriers arise
    • Providing regular update reports and progress summaries

About You

Must-Have Qualifications & Experience

  • Fully qualified charter accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA/CPA)
  • Strong tax advisory and international tax experience, including:
    • Process improvement projects, especially in tax operations and risk management
    • Knowledgeable about GST/VAT on services and goods (preferable)
    • M&A, cross-border structuring, and corporate tax strategies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English

  • Reputation for proactive, innovative and resilient thinking
  • Prioritisation management and ability to deliver under pressure in fast-paced environments
