Senior Manager - International Tax
Senior Tax Manager – AtkinsRéalis
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Tax Manager to join our team, responsible for delivering high-quality and effective tax advice for entities within the AtkinsRéalis Group. The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong technical expertise in international tax
- Background in tax advisory, M&A, process improvement
- Ability to leverage technology for efficiency and accuracy
Your Role
Tax Advisory & Risk Management
- Provide strategic tax support for client proposals, business decisions, and cross-border structuring
- Assess and mitigate tax risks, including:
- Permanent Establishment (PE) risks
- Withholding Tax (WHT) risks
- VAT risks of a bid
- Lead and support international projects, including:
- M&A activity
- Internal reorganizations
- Country start-ups
- Legal entity rationalization (due diligence, project management, step plans, tax consequence documentation, integration actions)
- Support ad hoc tax queries, if required
Compliance & Oversight
- Identify and address developments in international tax law, such as Pillar 2
- Maintain oversight of local compliance processes (prepared by local finance teams or outsourced providers)
- Manage and mitigate WHT costs and requirements on cross-border transactions
- Assess uncertain tax reporting positions to support the financial reporting process
- Support tax audit management, if required

Process Improvement and Standardization
- Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities
- Standardise processes, systems, and tools
- Assess and improve the quality, consistency, and integrity of tax-related data
Stakeholder Management and Collaboration
- Build and maintain strong relationships with:
- Internal teams (e.g., Finance, Legal, Operations)
- External advisors
- Ensure timely completion of actions
- Support the Global Tax Team on ad-hoc initiatives and analysis
Project Management
- Follow up on projects/initiatives, identify risks and propose solutions
- Meet deadlines while providing updates and progress reports
About You
Qualifications & Experience
- **Fully qualified ** (ACCA/CIMA/ACA/CPA)
- Relevant tax experience, with a focus on process improvement
- Demonstrates:
- Curiosity, strong commercial acumen, good judgement
- Strategic thinking to mitigate tax risks
- Knowledge of GST/VAT on services and goods (preferable)
Key Skills & Traits
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to:
- Collaborate in multi-cultural environments
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
- Project management experience for articulating complex tax issues
- Agility, resilience, and senior leadership influence
- Innovative and proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
