About the Role
Our Finance team is responsible for ensuring robust, accurate financial operations and plays a critical role in managing the Firm’s financial health. We handle a broad spectrum of financial activities, including:
- Financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
- Taxation and partner compensation
- Payroll administration
- Treasury and cash flow management
- Inventory management (billing, collections, and profitability analysis for clients, matters, and timekeepers)
- Statutory accounting and compliance processes
- Preparation of financial statements, reports, and performance analyses
- Collaboration with other departments to optimise expenses, improve processes, and implement cost-saving initiatives
This critical opportunity involves joining a forward-thinking team at a pivotal point in the firm’s evolution—focusing on client service excellence and operational innovation to strengthen financial stability and drive growth.
We are particularly seeking a Senior Manager in Legal Project Management (LPM), graduating from the Firm’s global LPM team. This role offers the chance to foster growth, strategic collaboration, and high-value contribution across one of the Firm’s legal projects.
Role Overview: Senior Manager, Legal Project Management (LPM)
This role will be pivotal in driving the expansion and adoption of LPM, ensuring maximum client value through innovative, data-driven, and efficient project delivery. Reporting to the Global Director of Strategic Pricing, the Senior Manager will interface with partners, senior decision-makers, and external clients. Responsibilities include:
- Leading legal project delivery, across multiple jurisdictions, business functions, and practice areas.
- Guiding project teams to achieve client and firm profitability targets, through robust budget tracking, cost forecasting, and utilisation of LPM best practices.
- Providing directed leadership on global projects, with a focus on strategic clients and high-value matters.
- Developing senior LPM capability, stakeholder relationships, and collaborative team management.
- Gaining operational insight into financial metrics, tools, and measurement frameworks that support legal project success.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- LPM Strategy & Implementation:
- Collaborate with LPM leadership to build out and grow the LPM global capability and pipeline, including influencing Partners/lawyers to adopt LPM approaches on critical matters.
- Co-deliver legal projects across the matter lifecycle, from initiation to conclusion, ensuring alignment with client expectations on scope, timelines, and delivery outcomes.

Project & Operational Leadership:
- Conduct Kick-Off Meetings, Project Team Meetings, and Steering Meetings, ensuring strong documentation and ownership.
- Define and validate project scope and risks at the onset, tracking timelines, dependencies, and deliverables rigorously.
- Budget and financial management—paying special attention to achieving cost targets while delivering value to clients.
- Continuously monitor and escalate scope, timeline, and budget shifts to ensure proactive/effective project adjustments.

Stakeholder Relationships & Communication:
- Forge synergies between Client, Firm’s legal teams, and multi-regional projects, including expert liaison with opposing counsel and key vendors.
- Serve as primary LPM contact for key stakeholders, offering proactive solutions to client queries in both strategy and operational delivery.
- Conduct Lessons Learned sessions and improve documentation to embed LPM best practices and methodologies.
- Represent the Fitness on key deliverables including support for pitches and tender submissions, showcasing LPM as a distinct value add.

Performance Optimization & Continuous Improvement:
- Influence continuous process improvement, leveraging lean methodologies and business process mapping to streamline operational efficiency.
- Advise leadership on incremental and strategic LPM innovations that keep the Firm competitive in client expectations.
- Mentor junior team members (LPM Analysts, Managers), supporting their professional development and alignment with Firm goals.

Client Portfolio & Matrix Management:
- Oversee client portfolios, focusing on legal operations, disputes, transactions, and strategic client initiatives.
- Systematically cross-sell LPM services globally and integrate cross-disciplinary expertise to deliver holistic project solutions.
Skills & Qualifications
Essential Criteria:
- Specialist Legal Project Management Expertise: Demonstrable hands-on LPM track record, including experience guiding complex, multi-disciplinary legal projects.
- Strong Change Management Ability: Experience advising colleagues on process/operational transformation and fostering adoption of new legal service models.
- Advanced Project Management Proficiency: Fluency in project scope, timelines, budgeting, risk mitigation, alongside experience leveraging project management methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile).
- Technical & Tools Skills: Proficiency in:
- Legal tech software, eDiscovery platforms, online portals/data rooms (Extranets, SharePoint).
- Collaboration tools (MS Teams, Scrum, SAP, etc.).
- Reporting & Analytical Tools (MS Project, Power BI, Excel).
- Financial & Business Agility: Ability to interpreting client financial metrics, analyzing cost variances, and contributing to innovative client pricing strategies.
- Leadership Prowess: Ability to manage multiple channels/systems simultaneously—balancing international geographies, project phases, and client priorities with absolute focus.

Desired Qualifications:
- Graduate level education (Degree in Law, Business, or Relevant Postgraduate Qualification).
- Formal project management certification (e.g., Senior APMQ or qualified PMP).
Additional Traits:
