Working hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday

Job Summary
You’ll be responsible for executing scientific communication and evidence‑support activities in response to Commercial business needs. This includes developing and delivering publications, abstracts, and presentations; conducting medical reviews of claims; and preparing technical documents that support commercial claims.
The role oversees the Investigator Initiated Studies (IIS) program, provides subject matter expertise (SME) for In-Market Assessments (IMAs), and supports cross‑functional responses to competitor challenges and off‑label inquiries, ensuring scientific outputs align with Commercial‑defined priorities while meeting regulatory and compliance standards.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
Scientific Leadership Develop and review all scientific materials including publications, conference abstracts and presentations based on priorities defined by Commercial/Professional Affairs. Hel to translate Commercial business needs into compliant, scientifically robust scientific communication materials. Oversee the IIS program based on strategic gaps identified and prioritized by Commercial, Clinical, and R&D. Serve as SME for IMAs as requested by Commercial partners, ensuring scientific validity. Medical Review & Claims Support (MLR/AdPromo) Conduct clinical/medical review of claims and serves as SME, as requested for promotional and educational materials to ensure accuracy, balance, and compliance. Provide scientific guidance on internal and external data to support commercial claims requests. Prepares and manages technical memos, data‑on‑file documents, and executive summaries to support claims and commercial strategies or regulatory requirements. External Communications Support Commercial/Professional affairs in managing relationships with key opinion leaders, influencers by providing scientific expertise aligned with their engagement strategy. Facilitate response to competitor challenge initiated by Commercial or Legal, ensuring claims are supported by high ‑ quality, compliant evidence. Provide scientific guidance for off ‑ label inquiries when requested by Commercial teams, consistent with MA’s non ‑ promotional role. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Provide scientific and medical input to global brand, regional marketing, and Commercial teams upon request, ensuring alignment with their strategic priorities. Maintain strict compliance boundaries while enabling Commercial to execute scientifically credible market strategies.

Experience/Education:
Minimum of 5 years of Medical Affairs, Professional Affairs, or related clinical/scientific industry experience (medical devices strongly preferred). Demonstrated experience representing scientific/clinical expertise (e.g. conferences, advisory boards, field interactions). Minimum of 5 years of experience as an optometrist. Patient interaction and clinical experience with practice management experience a plus Bachelor, Master or Doctor of Optometry (BOptom, MOptom, OD) degree or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency in MLR/AdPromo, including familiarity with US/EU promotional regulations Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions. Ability to interpret and communicate complex clinical data to diverse audiences including legal, regulatory, commercial, and external experts. Experience in working in global markets, ideally with time spent in / experience / language skills of more than one market. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, both internally and externally. Excellent organizational and coordination skills are essential. Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations specific to the medical device industry. Advanced skill in the use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Ability to read and understand highly technical material
