About the Role

You will join the National Housing Bank Office (NHB), supporting its strategic and operational effectiveness as a key Senior Manager within a collaborative, purpose-driven team. This role sits at the heart of the organisation, enabling smooth operations, governance and strategic alignment for a fast-growing body with profound social impact.

The Senior Manager provides high-quality management and strategic support to Executive Leadership, coordinating between directorates to ensure priorities are delivered efficiently. This is a rare opportunity to shape how the NHB operates from the ground up, working closely with senior stakeholders and the Homes England team.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic and Operational Support

  • Provide high-calibre strategic support to Executive Leadership, including:

    • Briefing preparation
    • Operational planning
    • Sound strategic advice
  • Maintain corporate processes with high-priority execution, balancing competing demands while ensuring deadlines are met.

Recruitment & Resource Management

  • Oversee recruitment and resource management activities, working with teams and line managers to build the right skills, capacity, and capability.
  • Ensure alignment between current and emerging strategic priorities.

  • Design and drive change initiatives across the National Housing Bank.
    • Work with multi-functional teams to identify and scale service gains.

  • Build robust, senior-level relationships to facilitate organisational improvements.

Person Specification

Skills & Experience

  • Proactive, highly organised, and analytical, with a proven ability to support senior leadership in fast-paced environments.
  • Experience in recruitment, resource management, and internal communications.
  • Skilled in governance, reporting, and risk management with flawless corporate compliance understanding.

Attitude

  • Drives collaboration, inclusion, and innovation, embedding sustained positive behaviours.
  • Strong decision-making through thorough insight identification, balancing both strategic and operational impact.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and able to guide priority setting in ambiguous or changing scenarios.
