Senior Manager, Process Architecture

Company Description

We’re Checkout.com – you might not know our name, but companies like eBay, ASOS, Klarna, Uber Eats, and Sony do. That moment when you check out online? We make it happen.

Checkout.com is where the world checks out. Our global network powers billions of transactions every year, making money move without making a fuss. We spent years perfecting a service most people will never notice. Because when digital payments just work, businesses grow, customers stay, and no one stops to think about why.

With 19 offices spanning six continents, we feel at home everywhere – but London is our HQ. Wherever our people work their magic, they’re fast-moving, performance-obsessed, and driven by being better every day. Ideal. Because a role here isn’t just another job; it’s a career-defining opportunity to build the future of fintech.

Checkout.com is looking for a visionary Head of Process Architecture to serve as the strategic operational leader across three critical pillars: Operations, Compliance, and Finance.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between executive vision and tactical execution, moving beyond functional silos to design a unified, frictionless operating model. You will lead a central "Process Centre of Excellence," managing a team who are responsible for the integrity, scalability, and efficiency of our most critical value streams.

You aren't just fixing processes; you are designing the blueprint for how Checkout.com scales globally.

How You’ll Make An Impact

Develop and execute the process architecture strategy across Operations, Compliance, and Finance, ensuring these distinct functions integrate seamlessly to support our growth. Lead enterprise-wide initiatives that cross functional boundaries, breaking down silos to improve efficiency and merchant experience. Manage and develop the Process Architecture team, driving a high-performance culture and building a robust internal talent pipeline. Establish the global "Process Excellence Standard", defining the methodologies, taxonomies, and governance frameworks that ensure consistency across the organisation. Act as the strategic partner to the Head of Risk Operations, Finance Operations, Compliance and, Merchant Operations, translating their high-level business goals into executable operational roadmaps. Drive organisational change management and capability building, ensuring that new ways of working are culturally adopted by employees globally. Ensure that the architecture of our processes inherently supports regulatory requirements and audit standards, reducing risk while maintaining speed. Champion the adoption of advanced process technologies (Process Mining, Intelligent Automation, AI) to drive continuous improvement and ROI. Define strategic KPIs and report on the ROI of process initiatives to the Executive Leadership Team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
