About the Role
Working within a small and ambitious team responsible for supporting the efficient approval of Homes England and national housing projects, the Senior Manager plays a critical role collaborating with the Head of Approval Operations.
You’ll join a forward-thinking team dedicated to delivering unparalleled customer service, taking an innovative approach to resolve governance challenges. As part of a dynamic team that collaborates with functions like Corporate Governance, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Government Sponsorship, you’ll thrive in a matrix management environment, supporting diverse project teams in ensuring timely approvals.
You’ll contribute to the design and execution of strategic projects aimed at refining processes, guidance, and operational standards. Each day brings new challenges—balancing routine responsibilities with innovative project initiatives—and offers unrivalled scope for expertise development.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Head of Team to manage complex project approvals and stakeholder engagements, facilitating efficient decision-making.
- Work closely with senior leaders, preparing both written briefings and verbal presentations on key projects and critical issues.
- Develop a deep understanding of the commercial and operational impacts of your team’s work, shaping strategic discussions and persuasive arguments.
- Represent the organisation’s bold mission, demonstrating resilience in managing high-level stakeholder relationships through empowering and inclusive dialogue.
- Push for innovation and collaborate as an inclusive, cohesive team player, blending governance expertise with potential improvements to workflows.
- Suppport process-oriented strategic projects to refine the team’s approval chain, fostering adaptable policies, guidance, and methods.

Experience and Skills
Essential
- Qualifications or equivalent experience (degree level or relevant) in governance, policy, or similar fields.
- Extensive experience in public sector governance (or comparable environments).
- Strong interpersonal skills, adept at managing diverse stakeholder relationships.
- A positive and proactive mindset, committed to continuous learning.
Desirable
- Familiarity with approvals management processes, procedures, or practices (particular experience intact in property/regeneration/housing beneficial).
- Direct experience within project governance and approvals networks.
