About the Role

This Senior Manager, Strategy & Growth role blends client consulting and internal strategy work. You’ll:

  • Spend most of your time delivering client engagements, with active client interaction.
  • Contribute to IMG’s internal growth strategy projects.
  • Operate in a rotation-based pool, moving between different engagements.

The role reports to the Senior Director of Strategy & Growth.

Key Responsibilities

Client Consulting

  • Fully execute client engagements, including analysis, modelling, and deliverables.
  • Apply clarity to client questions, defining key focus areas and structuring actionable answers.
  • Develop and refine market sizing, business cases, and rights valuations for clients.
  • Collaborate with junior team members, ensuring their progress and refining their work.
  • Contribute to proposal shaping and engagement scoping.

Internal Strategy

  • Address internal strategy inquiries, including:
    • Sizing new growth opportunities
    • Preparing investment cases
    • Tackling organisational challenges
  • Support Senior Leadership Team (SLT) updates and briefings for IMG’s President.

Required Knowledge & Experience

  • 4–7 years in:
    • Strategy consulting, or a corporate strategy/commercial role with significant client exposure
    • Preferably, media, entertainment, or sports-related experience
  • Strong delivery track record in consulting, including:
    • Completing key analytical and modelling tasks
    • Managing end-to-end project workflow
  • Confidence in numbers, with expertise in:
    • Market sizing, growth modelling, and business valuation
  • Experience mentoring more junior team members.
  • Experience working with senior decision-makers (clients or executives).

    • Breaking down complex issues to identify core elements and communicate them clearly.
  • Ownership & execution:
    • Thriving with clear briefs but excellent at adapting when struggling.
    • Adjusting course based on input and shifting priorities.

    • Navigating high-level discussions with different stakeholders effectively.
  • Comprehensive writing:
    • Translating intricately complicated topics into concise language for busy executives.
  • Pragmatism:
    • Prioritising rapid, high-value delivery over perfection.
  • Multitasking:
    • Switching between demanding clientwork and internal deliverables without compromising standards.
  • Collaborative attitude:
    • Embracing teamwork—pool rotation derives value from collective success.

Preferred Experience

  • Familiarity with sports, media, or entertainment industries.
  • Experience as an advisor, consultant, or internal strategist in a commercial business.
  • Understanding of how professional services firms generate revenue.
  • Working knowledge of multi-business-unit or holding company structures.

Working Conditions & Logistics

  • Permanent position at IMG (Chiswick Park).
  • Open to flexible work arrangements (hybrid/framework).
  • Expected standard hours of 9 AM – 5 PM, Monday–Friday.
  • Possible travel for meetings or IMG events offsite.
  • Unsocial hours may arise due to project deadlines or schedules.
  • Requires technology adaptation.
