Senior Manager, Strategy & Growth

This role sits in Strategy & Growth, balancing:
- Delivering client engagements (primary focus)
- Supporting internal IMG strategy work (planning, ad-hoc analysis)
You’ll report to the Senior Director of Strategy & Growth and operate in a pool model, moving across engagements with diverse clients and colleagues, depending on workload.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Client-Side Deliveries
- Lead core analytical work on complex engagements, running detailed analysis tailored to the project’s goals.
- Thought leadership & problem-solving: Dissect a brief into actionable insights, stripping away peripheral noise to deliver a clear, executable answer.
- Business/financial modelling: Size markets, build growth projections, value rights, dissect P&Ls, and validateFinancial models.
- Mentorship: Train junior colleagues, giving them ownership of components whilst ensuring tight alignment with the broader project.
- Proposal collaboration: Contribute to shaping future engagements—size opportunities, refine scopes, and author positioning decks.

Internal Strategy Work (Idle Periods)
- Opportunity sizing: Evaluate new growth paths for IMG.
- Investment cases: Develop commercial rationale for new initiatives.
- Organisational problem-solving: Untangle strategy and AV roadblocks for senior leadership.
SLT / Presidential Support
- Author executive briefings for IMG’s President pre-key meetings (internal/external).
- Maintain concise updates on strategic progress and material risks.
Knowledge & Experience
- 4–7 years in:
- Strategy consulting or a corporate strategy/commercial role with direct client exposure—preferably in:
- media
- entertainment
- sports
- Strategy consulting or a corporate strategy/commercial role with direct client exposure—preferably in:
- Evidence of delivery:
- Owned analytical components of engagements; delivered sherpa-quality work.
- Comfort with numbers/fundamentals:
- Built financial models (growth models, valuations).
- Audited case robustness before presentation.
- Senior stakeholder experience:
- Worked with executive clients pre rearrangement, distilling analysis into actionable slide decks/memos.

- Pragmatism: Prioritise finishable deliverables over perfectionism (e.g., “what coalitions can we pilot today vs. building out 50 scenarios”).

Ideal Experience
- Exposure to:
- Commercial advisory engagements in TMT (technology/media/tech) or sports.
- Operating in multi-business units or conglomerates (sectional conflicts, ongoing tech support).
- Flattening hierarchy skills:
- Client-facing: Trusted to translate ideas down to operations.
- Internal: Advocate solutions without outright permission-slipping.
Working Conditions
- Hours:
- Permanent role.
- Based at Chiswick Park, with approval for co-located or virtual work (TKO supports excellent UK hybrid policies).
- Hours: Mon-Fri 9am-5pm; adjusted for key sports engagements/meetings.
- Demands:
- Traffic events travel (IMG’s Taleulins London HQ location).
- Unsocial hours if required by e.g., league deadline calendars/areena piranha cycles.
- Tech disruption comfort: Rapid adoption of new tools (e.g., new collaboration platforms).
