Senior Manager, Supply Chain Operations

JOB PURPOSE

Burberry is looking for a skilled Senior Manager, Supply Chain Operations to lead operational and financial control activities across Product and Fabric & Trim Development and Industrialisation, including forecasting, budget management and seasonal financial performance analysis. Withing this role you will shape how development investment is planned, tracked and optimised, ensuring clarity, control and alignment with business priorities. You will also lead the Product Operations team, ensuring efficient, consistent processes that support the delivery of product strategies.

You will be joining the RTW, Softs & Children’s Operations team, which plays a central role in enabling product development through operational coordination, purchasing support, and spend control across the product lifecycle. This role is key to strengthening these foundations, ensuring teams have the structure, insights, and support needed to deliver effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning & Spend Control

  • Lead development and pre-production budget planning, translating product strategies and activity plans into clear, aligned financial frameworks.
  • Monitor spend across actuals, forecasts and commitments, identifying risks and recommending actions to maintain alignment with business priorities.
  • Provide leadership with clear visibility of spending performance, trends and financial risks to support informed decision-making.

Product Operations Leadership

  • Lead and develop the Product Operations team, ensuring consistent delivery across purchasing, vendor onboarding and invoice management.
  • Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of purchase orders and invoice processing, minimising disruption to development activities.
  • Establish clear standards, controls and priorities to drive accountability, consistency and continuous improvement.

Purchasing Governance & Vendor Compliance

  • Maintain robust governance across development purchasing, ensuring compliance with approval processes and commercial standards.
  • Oversee vendor onboarding and performance, ensuring alignment with agreed pricing structures and ways of working.
  • Partner cross-functionally to resolve vendor and purchasing issues while maintaining strong supplier relationships and cost discipline.

Cost Control & Operational Improvement

  • Ensure accurate tracking and visibility of development-related costs across Product Development, Design, Merchandising, Raw Materials and Engineering.
  • Identify and challenge cost discrepancies, risks and inefficiencies, driving proactive resolution and improved cost control.
  • Drive simplification and standardisation of processes, enhancing data quality, reporting and system-driven ways of working.

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Strong experience in operational control, finance partnering, programme management or business operations within a complex organisation.
  • Clear understanding of budgeting, forecasting and cost control, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Experience working across product-based environments, with familiarity in Product Development, Raw Materials, Engineering or pre-production activities.
  • Proven experience leading and developing teams, alongside strong stakeholder management skills to influence across functions and seniority levels.
  • High attention to detail combined with a broader strategic perspective, with the ability to identify risks and drive improvements.
  • Experience working with operational systems and reporting tools, including advanced Excel capability and exposure to PLM or similar platforms.
