The Opportunity: Senior Manager, Sustainable Infrastructure – Oil & Gas (London)
The Sustainable Infrastructure team, part of the Economic Growth & Natural Capital (EGNC) Portfolio in the Americas region, partners with mining companies to design and implement positive impact programmes—such as workforce skilling, reforestation, and sustainable agriculture—that benefit mining communities and regions. The team works across the entire mining lifecycle to help clients achieve ESG targets and build community resilience post-closure.
The Senior Manager, Sustainable Infrastructure – Oil & Gas role will apply similar expertise to oil and gas sector clients across the value chain, including upstream (exploration/production), midstream (pipelines, LNG terminals), and downstream (refining, logistics). The ideal candidate should demonstrate:
- Experience in ESG strategy, impact program design, and implementation
- Workforce development, local content, economic diversification, and community investment
- Integration of ESG considerations into operational contexts
The role also focuses on business development, including strategic planning, portfolio forecasting, proposal development, partnering, networking, and recruitment.
Key Requirements:
- Fluency in English and at least one additional language, with French, Spanish, Arabic, or Portuguese preferred.
- Current/future work authorization in the UK (visa sponsorship unavailable).
- Priority given to candidates familiar with emerging markets, complex project environments, and sound business acumen.

Location
- Based out of Palladium’s London office.

Reporting Lines
- Reports to the Director, Sustainable Infrastructure (based in the UK).
Primary Responsibilities
Project Management
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams to deliver client-focused, high-quality results across complex assignments.
- Oversee proposal development, budgeting, project planning, implementation, and reporting for timely, effective delivery.
- Identify, engage, and manage partners and subcontractors to enhance technical quality and delivery capacity.
- Manage partner/subcontractor performance to ensure contractual compliance in delivering agreed outputs and outcomes.
- Serve as Project Director, providing quality assurance across deliverables, budgets, client relations, and project performance.
Business Development
- Identify, assess, and pursue new business opportunities with a focus on oil and gas companies and associated infrastructure operators (pipelines, LNG terminals, logistics, storage, refining).
- Contribute to technical proposals, particularly for private sector and blended finance opportunities, targeting ESG strategy, impact program design, local content, economic diversification, and regional development.
Technical Work
- Develop short-term consultancy assignments on topics such as economic development, workforce development, ESG strategy, and inclusive business models across the oil & gas value chain.
- Lead technical input for ESG and impact initiatives linked to pipelines, LNG terminals, shipping/logistics, and refining.
- Contribute to research, analysis, and technical reports on ESG in the energy sector, community resilience, and regional economic development.
- Build and maintain partner relationships for technical expertise and network on trends in the oil & gas sector and client ESG objectives.
Essential Criteria
- 7+ years of senior-level experience in a client-facing project management role, with focus on oil & gas or associated infrastructure (pipelines, LNG, shipping, logistics, refining).
- 5+ years’ direct client experience working with oil & gas companies, operators, or infrastructure developers on ESG, economic development, or impact programming.
- Fluency in English + one additional preferred language (French, Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese).
- Strong networks within the oil & gas and energy infrastructure sectors.
- Team leadership experience across geographies and cultures.
- Proven emerging markets expertise.
- Business development experience, leveraging professional networks to secure new client portfolios efficiently.

- Technical proposal writing experience for private sector clients and international donors.
- Presentation and facilitation skills for both small/virtual groups and large audiences.
