About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Tax (Deal Advisory) to join our growing Finance team in London, United Kingdom. This is an exciting opportunity to grow your career with one of Canada’s largest asset managers, offering a unique platform in Tax (Deal Advisory). As the first tax representative in BCI’s London office, you will drive strategic tax solutions for European investments across private equity, infrastructure, renewable resources, private credit, and public markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tax support on complex, time-sensitive transactions related to private equity, infrastructure, renewable resources, private credit, and public markets.
- Collaborate with BCI’s Legal Affairs, internal deal teams, other internal departments, external investors, and external tax advisors on international tax structuring.
- Contribute to internal reorganizations and engage with foreign revenue authorities and governments on policy and legislative matters.
- Mentor junior team members with technical expertise and leadership.
Core Requirements
- Professional accounting or law designation (ACA, LL.B., or equivalent).
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in taxation—gain in law firms, accounting firms, or industry.
- Strong technical background in UK and/or US/international tax law.
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Solve complex, challenging tax problems collaboratively.
- Balance multiple deadlines with competing priorities.
- Communicate effectively with internal/external stakeholders.
- Proven experience in:
- Private equity, infrastructure, credit, or real estate transactions.
- Engaging with tax-exempt pension plans or investors.

Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with tax law across US and European jurisdictions.
- Specialization in tax-exempt government investor structuring.
Who You’ll Work With
BCI’s Tax team includes Deal Advisory, Compliance, and Enterprise Functions, working together to deliver:
- Customized tax strategy and structuring.
- Risk management for multi-jurisdiction investments.
- Engagement with global tax authorities on policy changes.
- Accurate reporting and operationalization of investments.
Key Duties & Impact
- Deal Advisory & Analysis: Support tax structuring and implementation for private equity, infrastructure, renewables, public markets, and private credit.
- Tax Compliance & Reporting: Manage tax valuations, deferred tax liabilities, audits, and ongoing monitoring.
- Policy & Advocacy: Engage with domestic/fforeign revenue authorities; lead internal transitions and reorganization projects.
- Team Development: Mentor junior staff; uphold compliance and risk management standards.
- Industry & Market Trends: Stay current with evolving global tax regulations and advancements.

- 100% work from our London, UK office.
