Deloitte’s Commercial Banking team works on the forefront of digital innovation and technology change within the commercial banking industry. As part of the Commercial Banking practice, you’ll be working with a multitude of market leading teams from Deloitte to deliver value to our clients across the delivery lifecycle starting from strategy and proposition definition to detailed operations and tech design and being part of engineering and implementation teams to deliver for our clients.   • Leading proposition definition and the delivery of successful technology implementations within the banking sector, adding value to our client’s end users.
  • Working with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and implementation teams to provide technical requirements and technical designs to lead overall functional and technical implementation.
  • Understanding how changes in the market will impact our Commercial Banking clients to improve their customer propositions.
  • Managing the software development lifecycle from requirement definition through to an implementation/product launch and collaborating with different stakeholders to achieve the clients desired outcome.
  • Establishing guidelines and ways of working for project delivery, through both waterfall and agile methodologies.
  • Managing technical, engineering and test teams – running daily stand-ups and ceremonies and tracking delivery using agile tools such as Jira.
  • Helping clients to re-imagine what modern deployment and release management processes may look like using DevSecOps principles, tooling and operating models.
  • Working closely with key internal and client stakeholders and effectively demonstrating people management skills.
  • Working within diverse teams to help deliver measurable business outcomes to achieve our client’s vision and reshape the future of the Commercial Banking industry.
  • Developing and maintaining effective relationships with peer-level stakeholders across all business workstreams internally, with our clients, and with our partners.
  • Leading business development work for our key propositions through pre-sales, bid preparation and client presentations. Showcasing our knowledge and experience whilst building relationships with potential clients.
  • Participating fully within Deloitte to assist the growth of the Commercial Banking and Technology Delivery team, develop and guide junior colleagues, and supporting the firm's commitment to creating a more diverse and inclusive culture.

Connect to your skills and professional experience

  • Experience working with a Bank, FinTech, Product Business or Consulting firm or equivalent with a track record of high performance and success in your role delivering change and transformation for your end client.
  • Experience of successfully managing large teams, leading technology implementations within the banking sector and building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Examples of leading technology implementations from proposition through implementation to launch within the banking sector.
  • Experienced of guiding and coaching junior talent through challenging situations and providing honest and constructive development points.
  • End user focused requirements definition/technical design experience in a banking or other highly regulated environment, leveraging agile ways of working from backlog definition, story mapping and writing epics/user stories to support the software delivery lifecycle.
  • Experience in working with business analysts and technical stakeholders to create and shape technical solution designs leveraging latest thinking on architectural approaches, e.g. modular architecture.
  • Working closely and collaborating with internal and client stakeholders to understand and articulate challenges to implement overall vision.
  • Working with engineering and test teams to help translate and communicate technical designs during implementation to help deliver solutions to end users.
  • Strong and specialized experience and understanding of banking products, processes, and technologies in areas such as:
    • Commercial Banking including but not limited to; products such as payments, commercial lending, trade and supply chain finance, cash management and liquidity.
    • Digital channels including but not limited to; mobile, web and Relationship Manager focused channels.
    • Digital platforms and technologies including but not limited to; cloud, API/Microservices, data and analytics.
    • Appreciation of emerging technology and trends in banking with an understanding and knowledge of different players in the banking ecosystem, ranging from FinTechs to established global technology providers.
  • Strong proficiency in key day to day applications such as Microsoft Office, Jira and Confluence.
  • Preferably you will also have:
    • Experience leading (consulting) bids, e.g. responding to RFI/RFP, and developing industry relationships.
    • Industry certifications such as Scrum Master, Product Owner, BCS, ITIL, TOGAF, and Cloud certifications such as AWS/GCP/Azure among others or equivalent.
    • Proficiency or experience with a software development language e.g. Java, Python, SQL, HTML, JSON.
