Purpose & Key Responsibilities
About the Role
As the Senior Manager, Temperature Control & Transportation, you will lead Quality initiatives to enhance cost, quality, and time efficiency in alignment with DePuy Synthes’ business objectives. You will act as the global point of contact for temperature-control and transportation compliance, processes, audits, and related activities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Proactively align quality assurance processes, procedures, audits, and activities with global transportation and temperature control requirements for DePuy Synthes products.
- Develop scalable solutions to integrate compliant product delivery into distribution operations, including qualification of technologies like active/passive containers, thermal blankets, and temperature monitoring devices.
- Subject matter expert: Collect, analyze, and report temperature data to inform science-backed decisions for sensitive product transportation, advising business units on necessary temperature protections.
- Lead a dedicated team to ensure compliance and timelines at the Global Temperature Control & Transportation (TCSC).
- Benchmark global temperature control processes, drive continuous improvement, and optimize cost savings and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor external markets to evaluate, qualify, and deploy new technologies in alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Support supplier qualification assessments for temperature control solutions, leveraging internal SMEs where necessary.
- Collaborate across supply chain and business units to standardize global temperature control processes.
- Troubleshoot cross-functional transportation and temperature-control issues with technological and organizational agility.
- Develop, implement, and maintain temperature control policies, procedures, and compliant SOPs.
- Act as the Engineering/strategic liaison between TCSC and global DePuy Synthes teams, ensuring alignment with TCSC objectives.

Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Minimum: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (BA/BS) in Engineering or a related field issued by an accredited university. A Master’s degree (MA/MS/MBA) is preferred.
- Experience: At least 8 years of progressive, relevant experience in temperature-controlled logistics, distribution, or medical device supply chain management.
- Proven expertise in cGMPs (Current Good Manufacturing Practices), federal, international, and local regulations for medical device manufacturing, storage, transport, and distribution.
Skills & Competencies
Required:
- Leadership & Management: Proven ability to develop, guide, and drive high-performance teams.
- Compliance & QMS Mastery: Deep understanding of GMP, ISO, SOP, CAPA, and quality control frameworks.
- Subject Matter Expertise (SME): In-depth knowledge of temperature-controlled logistics, regulatory landscapes, and global transport standards.
- Strategic Thinking: Capability to design long-term process improvements and refine cost/savings initiatives.
- Global Mindset: Ability to drive cross-functional standardization and alignment across diverse regions.
- Project Leadership: Experience using project management tools to execute agile, time-bound initiatives.
- On-the-Go Freelance: Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically or internationally when required.
