Senior Manager – Valuation and Performance Analytics at The Crown Estate
Purpose of Role
The Crown Estate exists to create lasting and shared value for the nation. As Senior Manager – Valuation and Performance Analytics, you will play a key role in helping the organisation understand, measure and communicate portfolio performance across a diverse property portfolio.
Working collaboratively across the business, you will translate complex valuation and performance data into clear, actionable insights that support informed decision-making, strong governance and long-term value creation. You will also help drive continuous improvement through enhanced reporting, data transparency and the responsible use of technology and automation.
Context of Opportunity / Main Accountabilities
Reporting to the Head of Performance Measurement, this role sits within Group Finance and is responsible for providing expert leadership and insight across valuation, performance analysis and reporting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the governance and oversight of independent valuation activity across a significant and diverse real estate portfolio.
- Acting as a trusted subject matter expert on valuation, portfolio performance and market insight.
- Providing constructive challenge and expert guidance to external valuation partners and senior stakeholders, ensuring robust, well-governed valuation outcomes.
- Managing valuation processes, benchmarking relationships and performance measurement frameworks that enable clear assessment of returns, risks and value creation.
- Producing high-quality reporting and performance insights for senior leadership, Boards and Committees.
- Identifying market trends, emerging risks and opportunities to support strategic decision-making.
- Supporting investment, development and asset management activities through valuation expertise and commercial insight.
- Championing continuous improvement across systems, processes and reporting, including the use of Power BI and responsible AI-enabled automation.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant valuation, accounting and governance standards while maintaining high-quality data and reporting integrity.

Most Important Skills Based Requirements
We are looking for a valuation and analytics professional who combines technical excellence with commercial awareness and strong stakeholder engagement skills.
You will bring:
- Extensive experience as a RICS-qualified valuation professional gained within a commercial real estate environment.
- Strong expertise in real estate valuation methodologies, including discounted cash flow modelling and Argus Enterprise.
- Advanced analytical capabilities, including Excel, portfolio analysis and performance measurement.
- Experience producing meaningful management information and performance reporting for senior stakeholders.
- A thorough understanding of the UK real estate market and key market drivers.
- Demonstrated success leading process improvement, transformation initiatives and workflow automation.
- The ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights clearly to a wide range of audiences.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and with external partners.
- A proactive, adaptable and inclusive approach, with a commitment to supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive team culture.
