Senior Manual QA Engineer

Senior Manual QA Engineer – Hybrid Role (London)

Location: Hybrid (3 days onsite per week, London) Salary: £50-60k DOE (Department of Employment) Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Manual QA Engineer to join a fast-growing SaaS technology business. This is the ideal role for a detail-oriented quality assurance professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about delivering exceptional software products.

As a Senior Manual QA Engineer, you will drive quality assurance for a market-leading platform, collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders. Your responsibilities include testing new features, integrations, and releases, ensuring high standards across the software development lifecycle.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be a proactive self-starter with strong analytical skills, a structured testing approach, and excellent communication abilities to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, create, and execute comprehensive manual test plans for new features, integrations, and product releases.
  • Conduct functional, regression, exploratory, and user acceptance testing to identify defects and uphold product quality.
  • Collaborate with development and product teams to refine requirements and ensure complete test coverage.
  • Log, track, and prioritise defects, providing clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
  • Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing to prevent reoccurring issues.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define acceptance criteria and quality benchmarks.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes, documentation, and industry best practices.
  • Support release management and provide sign-off prior to production deployments.
  • Mentor junior QA team members and foster a quality-driven culture within the business.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in manual software testing, preferably in SaaS, technology, or e-commerce.
  • Strong grasp of QA methodologies, test case design, and defect lifecycle management.
  • Hands-on experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail).
  • Exceptional attention to detail, paired with a methodical and structured testing approach.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • (Bonus) Experience testing APIs and third-party integrations.
