Senior Product Test Engineer
Location: Glenrothes, Fife (On site) Relocation Support: Provided Contract: Permanent, Full time (37 hours)

About The Role
You will enhance technical customer support, drive quality and efficiency improvements, and lead product-focused operations within the Unit Build & CCA manufacturing area.
Key focus:
- Active involvement in a functional test environment
- Accountability for test efficiency, cost ownership, and problem-solving
Requirements
Essential
- Minimum qualification:
- HND/Degree in electronics-related subject (preferably Electronic Engineering)
- Proven experience:
- Significant background in functional test engineering (military or high-reliability manufacturing environments)
- Strong electronics expertise across diverse technologies
- Analytical mindset with skills in data-driven problem-solving and clear, multi-level communication
- Analytical diagnostic know-how spanning multiple technologies
- Experience improving test efficiencies
- Personal attributes:
- Self-starter who challenges norms intelligently
- Collaborative team player who assumes ownership of issues
- Technical presentation skills to influence stakeholders effectively

Desirable
- Ability to communicate across disciplines at all levels
- Understanding of new product introduction (NPI) processes
- DFM (Design for Manufacture) and DFT (Design for Test) principles
- Experience with various test platforms or operating systems
- Knowledge of ESS (Equipment Support Systems) basics
- Familiarity with 6Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
- SAP and Shopfloor data collection systems expertise
Responsibilities
- Test cost and efficiency lifecycle ownership
- Continuous improvement of test solutions via:
- Yield analysis
- Test time reduction
- Faster, more efficient diagnostics
- Drive corrective actions to boost quality and efficiency
- Specify top-level test requirements for new products and streamline production
- Support production diagnostics at a high level
- Foster technical advancement by mentoring diagnostic technicians and engineers
- Enhance customer stewardship, addressing problems and anticipating future needs
- Provide key input to design authorities for DFM/DFT implementation
- Offer strategic insights to business capture teams for bids and proposals
- Active team member contributing to collaborative goals
