Senior Marine Claims Adjuster

We're working with a leading specialist insurer looking to appoint a Senior Claims Adjuster to join its newly structured and reputable Marine Claims team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing function, offering exposure to a broad and varied portfolio of Marine business across Liability, Cargo, Hull, War, and Specialist Risk claims.

You'll work closely with underwriters, brokers, and external stakeholders, handling international claims from notification through to settlement with an anticipated handling authority of $250,000, while contributing to the ongoing development of the team and its processes. There will also be the opportunity to mentor junior colleagues and help shape the team's future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied portfolio of Marine claims from first notification through to settlement
  • Liaise with underwriters, brokers, lawyers, and loss adjusters to achieve fair and timely outcomes
  • Produce feedback to underwriters and management with regards to the structure of claim issues and related risk information with the goal to improve the underwriting standards
  • Provide departmental reports including SLA’s, Metrics on a monthly / Quarterly basis
  • Ensure claims are handled in line with Lloyd's standards, internal procedures, and service levels
  • Be present at market meetings and conference calls when necessary
  • Contribute to reporting, continuous improvement initiatives, and wider team projects
  • Mentor and support junior team members

The ideal candidate will have previous London Market Marine claims experience, a good understanding of ECF and Lloyd's Claims Schemes, and excellent stakeholder management skills. Exposure and understanding of US Liability or Freight Liability business is essential.
