Real Food Festivals has been creating food festivals and events since 2008, launching its first flagship festival at Earls Court Exhibition Centre, which was recognized as a major highlight in the British food calendar. The organization now runs annual festivals, regular markets, pop-ups, and street food events that showcase outstanding independent food producers and businesses. Events have been hosted at prominent locations such as Southbank Centre, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Regent Street, King’s Cross, and internationally in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Real Food Festivals is driven by a commitment to real, sustainable, and ethical food, supporting artisan producers and reconnecting people with where their food comes from. The team collaborates with partners and like-minded organizations to bring high-quality food experiences to as many people as possible.
Role Description
The Senior Market Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in London, responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and ongoing management of Real Food Festivals’ markets and events. This role includes coordinating traders and vendors, managing stall allocations, and ensuring a high-quality mix of independent, artisan food producers. The Senior Market Manager will handle day-to-day operations, including scheduling, on-site supervision, health and safety compliance, and resolving operational issues. The role involves budget management, performance tracking, and reporting, as well as building strong relationships with suppliers, local authorities, partners, and community stakeholders. The Senior Market Manager will also contribute to marketing and promotional activities, support new market launches, and work closely with leadership to enhance visitor experience and grow the brand.

Qualifications

- Event and market management skills, including vendor coordination, on-site operations, and logistics planning.
- Experience in food, hospitality, or retail, with an understanding of artisan, sustainable, and ethical food businesses.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities, with capacity to handle multiple events and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with traders, partners, and stakeholders.
- Competence in budgeting, reporting, and performance analysis for markets and events.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and regulatory requirements for public events and food markets.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, on-site environment.
- Comfort with basic digital tools for scheduling, vendor management, and marketing coordination; familiarity with social media or event promotion is a plus.
- Prior experience leading teams or supervising staff and contractors during events.
- Availability to work some evenings, weekends, and public holidays in line with event schedules.
