Senior Market Risk Analyst – Physical Commodities Trading

Location

London

Working Pattern

On-site

Type

Full-time

An international commodities and energy trading business is looking to hire a Senior Market Risk Analyst to support its growing trading activity across physical energy and related products.

This is a highly visible role within the market risk function, suited to someone with strong technical capability, commercial awareness, and the confidence to influence how risk is understood and managed across the business.

The role goes beyond daily reporting. The successful candidate will be expected to provide clear insight, constructive challenge, and practical direction in a fast-moving trading environment. You will take ownership of specific product areas, with responsibility for daily position and P&L reporting, month-end close and reconciliation, and the clear explanation of trading performance. As one of the more experienced members of the team, you will also play an important part in setting standards, improving processes, and supporting the development of others. The role works closely with Trading, Commercial, Finance, and Technology teams to ensure risk and P&L are accurately, transparently, and consistently reported.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
