SAE Media Group is a highly professional, world leading business that specialises in the production of B2B Conferences. Part of the SAE International, we research, create, and deliver events in the Defence, Security, Energy, Aviation, Utilities and Pharmaceutical sectors.

The Job:

We are looking for a highly experienced, enthusiastic, and results-focused marketeer to devise and implement several campaigns. The Senior Marketing Executive is responsible for delivering highly targeted and powerful marketing to drive delegate ticket sales and commercial sponsorships.

You will work in a diverse marketing team in a fast-paced environment with non-negotiable deadlines. You will be a key member of the team, developing marketing campaigns to further enhance the continued growth of the business.

Responsibilities:

For each campaign you will have the following responsibilities.

  • Develop targeted and effective marketing campaigns to drive lead generation and engagement. Utilise all relevant channels in diverse formats, across all stages of the marketing funnel.
  • Research outside of the marketing brief, including competitive events, to find best channels to market.
  • Send creative, content lead e-mail campaigns through inhouse email system, and externally, when necessary.
  • Make targeted internal data selections for premail, mainmail and remail stages of campaign.
  • Provide data handover to telesales department.
  • Work with sponsors and speakers to promote conferences and leverage increased awareness and event exposure beyond inhouse data.
  • Manage, build and deliver against contra agreements and media partnerships.
  • Write and send press releases for each campaign to ensure maximum PR coverage.
  • Ensure relevant cross marketing is provided for each conference in your sector.
  • Identify gaps in data, add relevant new contacts and clean/maintain existing data.
  • Continuously improve marketing assets, processes, and activities, and share with colleagues to refine best practice.
  • Devise unique reference links (URLs) for each section of the campaign to track results.
  • Work closely with Conference Production to utilise content lead marketing including speaker interviews and chair invitation letters.
  • Monitor daily all aspects of your campaigns ensuring they are optimised and delivering required revenue.
  • Perform post campaign analysis to analyse success of each aspect of your campaign and access ROI.
  • Stay informed and continuously learn the constantly changing media landscape, best practices, and emerging technologies to enhance campaign effectiveness and efficiency.

Additional Requirements

  • Maintain effective communication within sector group across all departments.
  • Establish long term relationships with key industry media partners.
  • Keep an eye on competitor activities and media partners throughout the campaign.
  • Search for relevant lists to develop internal database.
  • Attend conferences to undertake market research.
  • Assist the sector head in all guesting campaigns.

Targets

  • Devise and implement several marketing campaigns per annum keeping to deadlines set.
  • Produce effective marketing plans within budget.
  • Achieve quality targets, such as Page View targets and ideal marketing mix, including drip and burst activity.
  • Negotiate rate card costs to obtain best possible prices for external activity from media partners.
  • Achieve revenue targets.

Essential Skills, Traits and Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in a conference/event marketing position.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Marketing, Communications or Advertising is an asset, although not imperative.
  • Excellent written and oral communications.
  • Experience of using databases and customer segmentation.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Showcase strong project management, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Deadline-driven and can manage time effectively and independently.
  • Commercially savvy with an eye for growth with innovative recommendations.
  • Creative, flexible and agile with the ability to reset priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Team player who is comfortable working with and gaining commitment from personnel across different functional groups.
