The Senior Marketing Manager plays a key role in shaping these events by driving paid attendance, refining brand positioning, and maximising delegate and sponsorship revenue.


About the Role

The Senior Marketing Manager is a strategic leader responsible for:

  • Developing and executing innovative marketing strategies to achieve attendance and revenue targets.
  • Elevating the event’s brand profile while ensuring alignment with market positioning and target audiences.
  • Crafting data-driven communication strategies to optimise delegate acquisition and sponsorship engagement.

This pivotal role demands a strong foundation in event positioning, branding, digital marketing, and commercial strategy, with a focus on measurable impact.


Core Responsibilities

Strategic Marketing Planning

  • Create and oversee an end-to-end strategic marketing plan aligned with business objectives.
  • Leverage audience insights, competitor analysis, and market trends to design a multi-channel approach.
  • Align marketing initiatives with commercial targets, ensuring alignment with ** ச operational goals**.

Event Positioning

  • Define and articulate the unique value proposition of high-profile events in competitive markets.
  • Develop positioning statements, messaging frameworks, and differentiation strategies.
  • Target priority audience segments to maximise paid and high-quality attendance.

Brand Development & Stewardship

  • Oversee the consistent execution of brand identity across all channels (digital, print, social, experiential).
  • Ensure all communications reflect the event’s core values, personality, and brand promises.
  • Drive emotional resonance to foster brand loyalty and affinity.

Pricing Strategy

  • Collaborate with commercial and finance teams to optimize ticket pricing, promotions, and yield strategies.

Integrated Campaign Management

  • Lead data-driven marketing campaigns across:
    • Digital (paid social, search, display)
    • PR and advocacy
    • Content and storytelling
    • Email and partnership initiatives
  • Drive the attendance funnel: from awareness → consideration → conversion → post-event advocacy.
  • Leverage proven tactics to ensure sustained engagement.

Target Setting & Performance Monitoring

  • Define clear KPIs, including ticket sales, engagement rates, and ROI.
  • Utilise analytics platforms to track and optimise performance in real time.
  • Adjust strategies proactively to achieve attendance goals.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, sales, finance, and operations teams.
  • Manage external agencies and internal stakeholders for seamless coordination.

Customer Journey Optimisation

  • Map the entire delegate journey: from initial touchpoint to post-event advocacy.
  • Identify friction points and opportunities to enhance conversion and satisfaction.

Market Research & Audience Insights

  • Commission and interpret audience insights, competitor analysis, and industry trends.
  • Identify motivators, barriers, and triggers for attendee purchase decisions.

Budget Management

  • Develop and manage marketing budgets efficiently to maximise ROI.

Content & Storytelling

  • Guide the creation of engaging, persuasive content that aligns with event themes.
  • Highlight headline speakers, unique experiences, and ROI benefits to drive registration.
  • Craft value-led messaging that emphasises exclusive opportunities and exclusive access.

Risk Management & Contingency Planning

  • Proactively identify potential risks to attendance objectives.
  • Develop contingency plans to mitigate challenges.

Key Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive marketing experience, with a proven track record in large-scale events (1,000+ attendees), preferably in a B2B environment.

Skills & Expertise

  • In-depth knowledge of event positioning, branding, pricing, and communication strategies.
  • Proven ability to develop value propositions that drive measurable sales impact.
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal), with an aptitude for persuasive storytelling.
  • Highly analytical, proficient in interpreting data to inform decision-making.
  • Experience in multi-project management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong ability to create high-impact, action-driven campaigns in competitive markets.
  • Experience working in matrixed environments and managing agency relationships. Adroit at influencing without formal authority.
  • Mastery of digital tools: marketing platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads, CRMs), email automation, and social media.
  • Familiarity with emerging martech solutions is an advantage.
  • Passion for live experiences and a nuanced understanding of event dynamics.
