The Opportunity:

Marketing Operations plays a critical role in creating the foundations for marketing success. At Clarion, we have built a strong community of Marketing Operations professionals across our diverse sectors who are transforming how we utilise customer data, automate processes, optimise the customer journey, and measure performance.

We are now seeking a Senior Marketing Operations Manager, EMEA (Data & Analytics) to lead our centralised Data & Analytics function across EMEA.

This role will own how marketing data is structured, analysed, and activated across the business, enabling teams to make insight-led decisions that drive performance and commercial growth.

You will lead a specialist Data & Analytics team responsible for reporting, data integration, data governance and customer insight across a growing marketing technology stack (Salesforce, Pardot, GA4, GTM, Treasure Data, Power BI, Hotjar, and Clarity).

This is a high-impact leadership role, ideal for someone passionate about driving operational excellence in data and analytics, building cross-functional capability, and leading a team that delivers insight to support the full marketing lifecycle.

The Candidate:

Marketing Operations at Clarion Events is underpinned by five core principles and the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate successful outcomes across all of them:

  • Data Steward – guardian of our customer data who curates its health, growth, engagement, and richness to extract maximum value for our business
  • Marketing automation expert – unlocks the capability of marketing automation to reduce manual process, optimise data flows, and enhance customer experience
  • Commercial connector – ability to connect the dots between commercial goals, data, process, insight, and people that enables successful decision making
  • Insight obsessed – driven to understand ‘why’ and takes the initiative to identify trends and gaps that others may look past to uncover new routes to success
  • Voice of customer – a respected voice that utilises qualitative and quantitative feedback to constantly refine our understanding of customers and empowers our teams with this knowledge

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and lead the Data & Analytics strategy within Marketing Operations
  • Manage and develop a high-performing team, setting clear priorities and standards
  • Act as the senior lead for marketing data, aligning analytics with commercial goals

Operational Excellence & Scalability

  • Design and implement scalable, standardised processes for data management, reporting, and insight delivery
  • Drive operational efficiency by identifying and removing bottlenecks, streamlining workflows, and accelerating speed to market
  • Own prioritisation and delivery of analytics workload, improving task planning, automate processes, and improve team capacity and project delivery across Essential and Enhanced shows

Data, Reporting & Insight

  • Own end-to-end marketing performance reporting and KPI frameworks
  • Oversee dashboards (Power BI) and ensure consistent, accurate reporting across teams
  • Deliver actionable insights to improve campaign performance, customer engagement, and conversion
  • Lead analysis across the full customer journey, including funnel performance and attribution

Data Management & Governance

  • Own data management and integration across platforms (GA4, GTM, Salesforce, Pardot, Treasure Data)
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance (GDPR/PECR)
  • Enable effective segmentation, tracking, and data accessibility for marketing teams

Best Practice & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish, document, and scale best practices across data & analytics
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, and knowledge sharing within the MOPs community
  • Benchmark performance and lead regular reviews to identify areas for refinement and growth

Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours:

  • Process-driven and outcomes-focused, with a mindset for continuous improvement and innovation
  • Strong understanding of workload and resource management tools and methodologies, with a focus on scaling team output and improving cross-functional collaboration
  • Passionate about marketing, the importance of the customer and connecting data across multiple systems to show the full impact of marketing
  • Proven ability to lead through change, embedding new processes and technologies while gaining team buy-in
  • Proven experience and demonstrated aptitude for all aspects of marketing operations including, but not limited to, CRM & marketing automation, data strategy, website analytics, data visualisation
  • Expertise in analysing and interpreting data through visualisation (Power BI experience desirable)
  • Experience working in a matrix organisation structure with skills to successfully manage multiple key stakeholders and competing demands
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable processes and workflows that drive efficiency, consistency, and high performance across marketing operations
  • Highly organised with excellent project management skills; capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills with high attention to detail
  • A positive and collaborative attitude and passionate about operational excellence
