Senior Engineering role with leadership of a small engineering team

Here at ISS, as a leading Facilities Management (FM) provider, we are looking to recruit a highly qualified (HNC level or above) M&E Engineer with strong technical competitive to join our client's R&D Laboratory site in Weymouth, Dorset.

The client are a Government Scientific Research agency and this site is key to the operation, and is best understood as a Scientific R&D centre and Fisheries, home to complex M&E systems that ISS are responsible in maintaining.

Here, leading a small engineering team you will be the Lead Engineer on site, with a focus on maturing our engineering delivery, providing day to day technical leadership of critical infrastructure, act as interface between ISS the client and sub contractors, and move the site from reactive, contractor led model to a controlled, technically governed operating environment.

This role includes supervising the team in accordance with the organisation's policies and procedures, which will encompass hiring, training and delivering staff appraisals.

Actions will include:

  • Electrical supply interfaces and control systems
  • Supporting process infrastructure
  • Site Resilience & Risk Management
  • Redundancy strategies
  • Failure mode analysis (FMEA) and contingency planning
  • Outage and shutdown strategies
  • Technical Authority & Assurance
  • Fault diagnosis strategies
  • Engineering modifications (e.g. power factor corrections, board replacement)
  • Contractor & Supply chain management
  • Ensure clear scopes of work
  • Appropriate competence
  • Integrated planning across disciplines
  • Incident Response & Root cause analysis
  • Lead response to critical incidents and system failures for Electrical, Controls etc.
  • Maintenance & Asset strategy

We need from you:

  • Strong level of technical qualification, ideally HNC level or above with proven experience in a Senior Engineering role across critical and none critical M&E systems
  • Ideally some leadership experience
  • Ability to pass a Security check
