Do you want to Lead Mechanical Solutions for Subsea Projects?

Are you passionate about driving Engineering Excellence?

At Baker Hughes, we take energy forward making it safer, cleaner, and more efficient for people and the planet. Our Subsea business plays a critical role in delivering innovative, reliable, and cost-effective solutions to some of the world’s most complex offshore challenges. We’re looking for a Senior Mechanical Application Engineer to join our team and help shape the future of subsea energy.

Partner with the best

As a Senior Mechanical Application Engineer, you will be a key technical interface between our customers, commercial teams, and engineering functions. You’ll be responsible for translating customer requirements into robust, fit-for-purpose subsea equipment solutions—supporting tenders, front-end engineering, and project execution.

As a Senior Mechanical Application Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading mechanical engineering input for subsea tenders, studies, and early engagement activities.
  • Interpreting client specifications and translate them into compliant, cost-effective technical solutions.
  • Developing and reviewing mechanical designs, layouts, and technical documentation for subsea systems and components.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management, manufacturing, sourcing, commercial and project engineering.
  • Providing technical support to commercial teams during bid preparation and client presentations.
  • Ensuring solutions meet applicable industry standards (API, ISO), internal design practices, and customer requirements.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the team.
  • Supporting risk assessments, design reviews, and lessons learned activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
