Help Build Something. Don't Just Work for It.
Blue Wire Mechanical & Electrical is an ambitious and growing Building Services contractor delivering high-quality mechanical and electrical projects across the commercial, education, healthcare, hospitality, and industrial sectors throughout the UK.
We're looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Contracts Manager to become a key member of our management team.
This isn't simply another Contracts Manager role. We're looking for someone who wants genuine responsibility, enjoys making decisions, takes pride in delivering quality projects, and wants to help shape the future of a growing business.
We're large enough to deliver exciting and technically challenging projects, yet small enough that every member of the team genuinely makes a difference. Your ideas, experience, and contribution will be valued, and you'll have the opportunity to influence the future direction of our mechanical division.
The Role
You'll take ownership of multiple mechanical projects from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing multiple mechanical projects from pre-start through to final handover.
- Leading and supporting directly employed engineers and specialist subcontractors.
- Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, and main contractors.
- Planning, monitoring, and managing project programmes.
- Procuring materials and subcontract packages.
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout each project.
- Carrying out regular site visits and providing technical support to engineers where required.
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, profitably, and to the highest quality standards.
- Working closely with our commercial and operations teams to deliver successful project outcomes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
