Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer looking to make a real impact on the future of the UK water industry?

We're looking for a Senior or Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join our in-house design team, delivering innovative, low-carbon water treatment solutions across the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role throughout the full project lifecycle from concept and detailed design through to implementation while helping to develop the next generation of engineers.

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll:

  • Lead the mechanical design of water treatment projects from concept through to delivery.
  • Produce and review high-quality mechanical design deliverables.
  • Ensure designs comply with client specifications, industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate design reviews, checking and approval processes.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, helping to build a high-performing design team.
  • Prepare work scope estimates and quotations.
  • Champion health & safety, quality and environmental best practice.
  • Collaborate with clients, project teams and key stakeholders.
  • Manage design changes and support project programme delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
