Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer looking to make a real impact on the future of the UK water industry?
We're looking for a Senior or Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join our in-house design team, delivering innovative, low-carbon water treatment solutions across the UK.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role throughout the full project lifecycle from concept and detailed design through to implementation while helping to develop the next generation of engineers.
What you'll be doing
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll:
- Lead the mechanical design of water treatment projects from concept through to delivery.
- Produce and review high-quality mechanical design deliverables.
- Ensure designs comply with client specifications, industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate design reviews, checking and approval processes.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, helping to build a high-performing design team.
- Prepare work scope estimates and quotations.
- Champion health & safety, quality and environmental best practice.
- Collaborate with clients, project teams and key stakeholders.
- Manage design changes and support project programme delivery.

What we're looking for
You'll ideally have:
- Degree, HND or HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it) with a recognised professional body.
- Strong mechanical design experience within the municipal water or wastewater sector.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Design management experience.
- Knowledge of programme and financial management.
- Experience across all project phases, including optioneering, FEED, detailed design, construction support and As-Built documentation.
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- A full UK driving licence.
