About the Role
A degree-qualified Mechanical Design Engineer is required to join Martin Audio’s world-class team, developing advanced professional audio products while working in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
As a senior engineer, you will:
- Demonstrate high competence in mechanical design
- Own design projects end-to-end
- Drive product development from concept to completion

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Mechanical Design Manager, your primary duties include:
Core Design Executives:
- Lead and own the mechanical design of loudspeaker systems, including safety-critical lifting hardware for audience deployments
- Apply rigorous structural load analysis, using hand calculations and FEA tools
- Ensure robust geometric tolerancing and tolerance stack analysis for parts like suspension systems and connections

Manufacturing & Materials:
- Specify designs for welded fabrication, CNC woodworking, sheet metal, extrusions, pressed metal, die-cast and injection-moulded parts
Team & Development:
- Mentor junior engineers in drawing checks and validation
- Represent the design team in installations or field use testing
External Collaboration:
- Travel to suppliers and contractors for prototyping and production support
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical/Design Engineering (or similar) + direct industry experience
- Independent problem-solving with a strong foundation in engineering principles
- Expertise in 3D CAD (PTC Creo Parametric preferred) and engineering drawings (including final inspection data)
- PLM system familiarity: Document control, change management
- Hands-on with tolerance analysis and FEA (finite element analysis)
- Professional proficiency in hand calculations, structural testing and visualised simulations

Working Conditions
Standard Hours: Monday-Thursday: 8:45 AM–5:30 PM Friday: 8:45 AM–4:00 PM
