We're looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join an engineering team developing advanced RF and microwave products used across defence, telecoms and space applications.

This is a hands-on role suited to a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer who enjoys solving complex packaging, thermal and mechanical integration challenges while providing technical leadership across projects.

You'll work alongside RF, electronics and systems engineers to develop high-performance products from concept through to manufacture.

What you'll be doing

  • Mechanical design of enclosures, assemblies and electronics packaging
  • Thermal management and design for reliability
  • 3D CAD modelling and drawing creation using SolidWorks
  • Supporting FEA and engineering analysis activities
  • Design for manufacture across CNC machining, sheet metal and assembly processes
  • Working closely with RF and electronics teams to optimise product performance
  • Supporting prototype build, test and product qualification
  • Leading design reviews and mentoring engineers

What we're looking for

  • Senior or Lead Mechanical Design Engineer background
  • Experience designing products that incorporate electronics
  • Strong SolidWorks capability
  • Understanding of thermal management and electronics packaging
  • Experience of taking products from concept through to production
  • Exposure to defence, aerospace, telecoms, space, instrumentation or other high-reliability environments would be advantageous
