Sale Group is a specialist mechanical fit-out contractor delivering high-quality mechanical, public health, and air conditioning solutions across commercial and domestic projects. With our head office in Cheam and a growing team, we are known for technical excellence and reliable project delivery.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Designer to join our team at our Havant office. This is a senior technical role for a confident, hands-on designer with strong mechanical building services expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Produce accurate and detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD for mechanical and public health systems. Lead the development and coordination of mechanical building services designs, ensuring seamless integration with architectural and structural elements. Prepare schematics, layouts, general arrangement drawings, detailed installation drawings, and as-built records. Manage design changes, undertake clash detection, and ensure full compliance with project specifications, British Standards, and UK Building Regulations. Utilise Revit for BIM modelling, coordination, and multi-disciplinary collaboration. Provide technical leadership and quality assurance, mentoring junior designers and engineers. Liaise with project engineers, site teams, and external consultants to resolve technical issues and optimise designs.

Requirements

Significant senior-level experience as a Mechanical Designer or CAD Designer within the building services/MEP sector. Previous experience with a mechanical fit-out contractor is highly preferred. Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, with a proven track record producing mechanical and public health drawings. Strong Revit and BIM experience – confident managing models, families, coordination, and 3D workflows. Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline (or extensive relevant experience). Thorough working knowledge of UK Building Regulations, British Standards, and best practice in mechanical systems. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, solution-focused mindset. Right to work in the UK.
