Report to: Associate Director or Project/Business Director.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the Electrical and Mechanical engineers within the Project Team, with technical support from the Electrical Associate Director or Project/Business Director.
- Prove ability to manage multiple projects and organize themselves to meet all assigned deadlines.
- Responsible for full detailed mechanical design, completing exercises on own or as lead of project group.
- Responsible for calculation works to prove design for domestics, ventilation, heating, and cooling systems.
- Coordinate design with electrical design members and review overall MEP design for completeness against project brief.
- Attend design team meetings, report back to the wider design team on progress and actions.
- Clearly communicate to clients and project teams.
- Manage internal design program against client target dates to ensure timely issue of information and project financial performance.
- Constantly seek ways of improving the efficiency of their work and of their team.
- Continually seek to adopt the most up-to-date practices and be innovative in their application.
- Assist sustainability engineers with modelling input data and criteria, including reviewing completed reports issued by the department for correctness.
- Show great involvement in teamwork and promote consultation and collaboration with team fellows.
- Contribute to the development of junior/intermediate team members.
- Show interest and seek ways of developing their knowledge in other engineering disciplines.
- Ensure all QA procedures and guidelines are followed.
- Participate actively in the design verification process within the team and responsible for checking and sign off of junior/intermediate & engineers design.
- Ensure clients are satisfied with the performance and quality of service provided. Act on client concerns and problems in a prompt, efficient, and courteous manner.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships, assessing and acting upon the Client’s current and future needs.
- Actively seek opportunities for appointments to gain new, repeat, and profitable business.
- Be fully conversant with current building regulations, CIBSE documentation, British standards, BISREA documentation, and all other general design guides associated with the building services industry.
- Be IT literate, with working knowledge of office, AutoCAD, Hevacomp.
- Registered as a minimum Member of CIBSE or work towards accreditation.

Experience: Minimum of 6-7 years of experience in the associated specialism is required for the candidate to be suitable for the role. This would generally ensure sufficient exposure to all technical aspects of the role and understanding of the industry.
