Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 DOE Location: Birmingham, UK Job Type: Permanent
I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established Building Services consultancy looking to add a Senior Mechanical Engineer to their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to work on a diverse range of projects across multiple sectors, taking responsibility for mechanical design, client engagement, and project delivery from concept through to completion.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and deliver mechanical building services design projects. Produce and review calculations, specifications, reports, and technical drawings. Attend client and design team meetings, providing technical input throughout the project lifecycle. Support and mentor junior engineers within the team. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery. Build and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to repeat business opportunities.

Experience and Qualifications Required: Degree, HNC, or HND in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering. Minimum 3-4 years' experience within Building Services design. Strong understanding of British Standards, Building Regulations, and industry best practice. Experience using software such as Revit, Amtech, Relux/Dialux, and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of BREEAM, renewable technologies, and HV/LV systems would be beneficial. Working towards Chartership or membership of a professional body such as CIBSE is desirable.
