Senior Medical Advisor – Gastroenterology
Senior Medical Advisor, 12 months, Maidenhead, hybrid working 2 days per week onsite.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Build and maintain deep expertise in related therapy area in oncology, staying up to date with clinical and scientific advances through actively engaging with key clinicians and academics.
- Gather and translate field insights to inform medical strategy and evidence generation.
- Contribute to local evidence generation strategy by identifying data gaps and proposing research initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the local Medical Affairs plan in related therapy areas.
- Lead or support key medical affairs projects (e.g., advisory boards, scientific exchange, medical education programmes).
- Collaborate with Market Access colleagues providing medical expertise on Health Technology Appraisal submission(s).
- Work closely with Commercial, Regulatory, and Global/EMEA teams to ensure aligned strategy and execution.
- Ensure all activities comply with ABPI Code of Practice and company policies.
- Act as medical reviewer/final signatory (if qualified), ensuring scientific accuracy and balance.

How to Succeed
- GMC registered physician or Pharmacist with UK registration, or
- PhD in oncology, immunology, molecular biology, or related discipline, or
- MSc with significant experience in Immunology Medical Affairs in pharmaceutical industry, or
- Other relevant healthcare qualifications combined with substantial Immunology Medical Affairs experience.
- Proven experience in Medical Affairs or related roles.
- Strong project management skills and demonstrated experiences in leading clinical/ scientific programs with a high degree of autonomy.
- Good understanding of ABPI Code of Practice.
- Experience as a Medical Advisor in IBD preferred.
- Ideally ABPI Code of Practice Final Signatory status.
