Job Description

Senior Medical Writer

Who we are

Omnicom Health Medical Communications is the global healthcare communications partner that accelerates the impact of medical science for pharma and biotech clients. We boldly define the healthcare communications landscape at the convergence of people, purpose, science and technology, driving the impact that pharma needs to realize the promise of innovative medicines.

We’ve created a unique model of four disciplines - Commercial & Marketing, Medical Affairs, Publications and Regulatory – that enables hyperconnected, audience-centric engagement that delivers for our clients.

Our Purpose

Scientific discovery moves humanity forward, creating better ways to connect, to care, to live. The innovations our clients create not only improve, but save lives, and we work every day to maximize that impact. Our industry knowledge and foresight is matched with relentless execution, and we partner with clients to ensure that their story connects with the right audience when it matters most. Together, we move medicine closer to patients and accelerate the impact of science.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand the purpose and role of communications in the wider therapy area and commercial landscape
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly to different audiences through a variety of media (print and digital)
  • Identify and communicate important therapy area updates and any medical/regulatory milestones to the team and clients where appropriate. Link this with any potential new business opportunities where applicable
  • Provide regular feedback to junior teams across accounts and projects
  • Ensure regular status updates to senior team members on accounts and projects, including being able to clearly escalate anticipated challenges/needs in a timely manner

Project Delivery

  • Able to work across multiple projects and accounts simultaneously, whilst monitoring team output
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of timelines, budgetary constraints and scopes of work
  • Adhere to the quality control process and ensure all work produced by the team has gone through the correct internal review process, setting the example for junior team members to follow
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of project management and resource planning
  • Maintain a working knowledge of pharmaceutical industry standards and compliance
  • Enter time and submit expenses by the deadlines set, using appropriate job codes

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
