Home-based (UK) | Regular UK travel & some international travel | Circa £50,000 + annual bonus + car allowance

We're recruiting on behalf of a globally recognised professional membership organisation seeking an experienced Senior Membership Business Development Manager to lead the growth of an exciting new membership proposition for organisations operating in safety-critical industries.

This is a fantastic opportunity to shape a brand-new membership category, engaging organisations across sectors including construction, energy, manufacturing, logistics, ports, and utilities. You'll own the full business development lifecycle, from identifying and engaging prospective members through to onboarding, account management, and long-term growth, helping organisations improve standards through membership, training, and accreditation services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow a new membership proposition across the UK.
  • Identify, engage, and convert new member organisations through consultative business development.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and procurement teams.
  • Promote membership, training, and accreditation services as part of a complete solution.
  • Manage and grow key accounts to maximise long-term value and retention.
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline and deliver against commercial targets.
  • Work collaboratively with technical, marketing, and commercial colleagues to maximise opportunities.

About You

You'll bring:

  • Proven experience in business development, consultative sales, or strategic account management.
  • Experience managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through to long-term account growth.
  • Success selling services, solutions, or membership-based offerings into large organisations.
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills with senior decision-makers.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach and the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across the UK, with occasional international travel.
  • Experience within engineering, industrial, manufacturing, construction, utilities, logistics, professional bodies, or trade associations would be advantageous.
