About the Role
We are recruiting a motivated and experienced part-time Band 6 Senior Mental Health (MH) Practitioner to join the St Ives and St Neots Older People’s Community Mental Health Team.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a service-user focused, evidence-based environment, supporting people aged 65+ in their own homes or care settings. Our team provides assessment, treatment, and care coordination aligned with professional bodies and national policy.
A key focus is the delivery of therapeutic and recovery-based interventions, promoting active engagement in deinstitutionalization and connecting with third sector support where applicable.

Client Care & Coordination
- Act as a Care Coordinator, managing caseloads and promoting carer involvement where agreed.
- Deliver diverse clinical interventions, including assessments, treatments, and recovery planning.
- Foster therapeutic relationships to empower service users in their recovery journey.
Collaborative Working
- Work closely with Psychologists, Occupational Therapists (OT), and Psychiatrists for coordinated care delivery.
- Collaborate with team members, including Mental Health Practitioners and Support Workers.
Travel & Geography
- Primarily cover St Ives and St Neots, with travel requirements extending to other Huntingdon areas as needed.
- Independent travel is mandatory—applicants must have a full UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle.
- Public transport is not suitable for this role due to unreliable adherence to time deadlines.
Professional Development

Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
- Have reliable access to a private vehicle.
- Demonstrate a passion for working with older adults with complex mental health needs.
- Show strong teamwork, accountability, and adaptability under pressure.
- Be proactive in servicing continuous improvement.
