Make a difference when it matters most At Rethink Mental Illness, we’re looking for a commissionate, resilient, and driven individual to join our team as a Senior Mental Health Recovery Officer. You’ll support adults affected by suicide—whether they’re experiencing suicidal thoughts, recovering from attempts, or grieving—helping them navigate recovery, advocacy, and emotional healing.

This is more than a role—it’s a commitment to creating hope when it matters most.

Both services are non-judgemental, tailored to individual needs, and prioritise recovery-focused support.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Mental Health Recovery Officer, your work will include:

  • Case management: Lead your own caseload, delivering 1:1 personalised support.
  • Emotional & practical care: Assist people exploring suicidal distress, recovery, and coping mechanisms; assist with safety planning.
  • Community outreach: Provide support in-field settings as required.
  • Group facilitation: Lead (or co-facilitate) bereavement or recovery groups.
  • Collaboration: Partner with experts by experience, professionals, and external agencies.
  • Record-keeping: Maintain accurate case records/day reports using organisational systems.
  • Referral navigation: Ensure timely escalation to wider services, while adhering to safe practice boundaries.
  • Reflective practice: Engage in supervision and professional development to enhance resilience.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
