We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Support Worker to join our mental health team at HMP Stocken, a Category C men’s prison located in the parish of Stretton, Rutland, England.
Hours & Salary
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (core office hours)
- Salary: Full time, up to £33,510 per annum
- Applicants must have a legal right to work in the UK and be prepared for vetting and security checks.

Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Mental Health Support Worker, you will:
- Assist the mental health team in delivering immediate and ongoing care for patients referred to the service
- Deliver structured interventions on a 1:1 and group basis, supporting individuals experiencing mental health difficulties (e.g., anxiety, depression)
- Contribute to a positive and aspirational integrated care team, ensuring dignity, care, and respect for all patients
- Conduct physical health monitoring as required, including:
- Blood sampling (training provided)
- Completing physical observations (e.g., NEWS2, ECGs if applicable)

Qualifications & Experience
- Rewarding background in mental health or healthcare settings preferred
- Experience or willingness to undergo physical health monitoring training (venepuncture, NEWS2, ECGs)
- Proven ability to deliver mental health interventions
- Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Experience in secure environments
