Senior Quantity Surveyor – Competitive Salary – Sunderland

Do you have commercial experience within M&E or building services? Are you ready to lead the commercial delivery of a healthcare project?

The role

Dalkia UK is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its Sunderland team.

You will lead the commercial management of MEP works on a major healthcare development, working with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and teams. This is an opportunity to take ownership of cost control, contracts and commercial performance while supporting project delivery.

You will gain exposure to healthcare projects across Dalkia North, creating career development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial delivery of MEP works throughout the project lifecycle
  • Complete measurement and valuation of works, variations and final accounts
  • Prepare CVRs, cost reports, cash flow forecasts and cost-to-complete updates
  • Manage subcontractor and supplier appointments, performance and account agreements
  • Maximise commercial performance while maintaining financial controls
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and internal governance
  • Build relationships with clients, the supply chain and project teams
  • Support and mentor junior commercial team members

The person

You will need:

  • Significant Quantity Surveying experience within M&E, MEP or building services
  • Strong cost control, reporting, subcontractor and change management experience
  • Knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts, with NEC Option C desirable
  • An HNC, HND, degree or equivalent qualification
  • Negotiation, analytical and stakeholder management skills
  • A valid CSCS card and the right to work in the UK
  • RICS chartership, progress towards it, and healthcare project experience would be advantageous.
